  1. 90-Day follow-up today.  I have lost 43% of my excess weight.  BP and Blood Sugar are in the normal range. Pre-surgery I took 1000mg of Metformin, 5mg of Glipizide, and 20mg of Lisinopril each day.  Now I take 500mg of Metformin only, and expect to eliminate that soon.  I am still early in the process, but I have no regrets.  It feels good to be healthy.  My best advice to people considering weight-loss surgery...go into it knowing that signigicant lifestyle changes will be required in order to be successful.  If you think that at some point you will be able to go back to doing the things that caused you to be overweight to begin with, DON'T HAVE THE SURGERY!  Your thinking must be "right" to begin with.

When can you travel after GS

I flew my 4th week post surgery. The travel itself didn't bother me, but between working out of a different location and staying in a hotel, I got totally out of my routines (food, Water, walking, etc.) For me, it was too soon, so I would recommend waiting until you have been for your 30-month follow-up at least, and preferably until you've adapted to some "regular" foods. I've been back home four days, and I'm still feeling ick. Good luck.
