Good luck !!!! we got this :) I'm doing my liquid diet low sodium chicken broth ,fat free strained creamed soup ,protein shake and sugarfree popscicles ,jello,powerade and of course water but only am limited to 1 cup a day ,I never thought Id have so much will power considering hubby and my son ate my favorite foods last night

Finally got approved after 3 denials and one appeal .I did my 6 month visits seminar and BEGIN class last week now i go on March 29th to set a date .I'm excited but nervous at the same time .Good luck to everyone

Finally got Approved my surgeons office had to do a provider appeal and now I'm off to my BEGIN class next week then just wait for that clearance one step closer to a new journey ,Its a lot of work and paperwork and stuff but after I thought about just up and forgot about I got that call ,

I am right there with you on this as we speak, and it kills me that we pay all this money into BCBS and can never get what we truly need out of them. But only waste our money on all ourhigh co-pays and such and do our part to stay fit and healthy, but then we get denied for various reasons but in all reality we are saving them money in the long run. I will never get it I guess.I have not heard of them stricter but you never know .

Yes they do give you the run around ,I didnt think that 3 yrs ago when I was sick would affect how my weight is now ,now im waiting again becasue the Dr.office called me Monday and was a little confused when she got her c.c. and BCBS is saying now it was denied becasue she never sent over the physical paper from the surgeon and that she has to resubmit it .So know its a wait and see game for a couple of weeks

The same here my 6mth visit was in Dec but the surgeon office said it had to be 180 days for them to even think of approval so I did 7 visits and then got denied because they said my BMI was to low in 2013 but I had pneumonia that yr ughh now waiting on a Dr note I should hear something by the end of Feb if not I have to start the this g all over again and wait till next Feb which don't make sense Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App

Sorry to hear that I was just denied due to BCBS AL hold me haveing pneumonia in 2013 where my BMI dropped to 28.1 but I was not eating because I was sick so now my surgeon office is writing a letter to see if that will be approved if not I will have to wait a year to try again ,I have mentally prepared myself along with my husband for this day just to get bad news I have a yo-yo affect with my body and I wanted to prevent future issues you would think they would benefit from that and not having to pay for unessary Dr visits in the future . i just finished my 6 month with my PCP weigh ins and the the nurse told me I have to have a surgery clearance before anything else where this was never mentioned before from my PCP nor my surgeon,I told her what my surgeons office said that after today when she faxes the final weigh in my surgeons office will set me up with the BEGIN class and that is where I will do my stress test and labs . Now I'm just waiting for my approval which the lady at my surgeons office said she gets them back the same day . But I was wondering if anyone else had been told they needed a surgery clearance ? So now I'm a little confused .

I have a question regarding the appointment after the 6 month controlled weight loss visits with my PCP every month .Jan 25th is my last visit with him .Do I wait for the surgeons office to contact me or do I make the appt myself for the next step .I have BCBS and have three years of weight submitted to my surgeon and have followed a 1200 calorie a day diet for which I don't reach as I really don't eat much anyways but haven't lost any nor gained any .So how much longer should it be after jan 25th ?

I didnt at first but then remembered I had went to a couple of urgent cares and went back to them and asked for my records and they had all my vitals on it including my weight and my ob/gyn was also good enough from what my Surgeons office said .

I have BCBS of Alabama to and have had to go to all the Dr's ( ie urgent cares and walkin clinics ) if my PCP wasnt available and that was good so far for my surgeon and have 1 more visit to my PCP on the 25th .Then go meet with the surgeons office and go from there .The lady in the office said pictures would do as well and the should dated but if not write a letter stating when they were taken that's what she told me .good luck
