this happened for me too! I was sleeved on June 20 and that feeling is pretty much gone. Hang in there! I couldn't even eat jello. My surgeon said it's because of the swelling from the procedure. Itll get better in the next week or so sw: 284 surgery weight: 263 surgery 6/20/17 cw: 252

I remember feeling scared too. Just remember why you're doing it! You will be a Sore afterwards buts that's all you will remember. You will be taken care of and will be so proud of yourself in the end. Remember, it's such a small period of time for prep and recovery compares to.the rest of your life happy with the choices you made! Good luck! sw: 284 surgery weight: 263 surgery 6/20/17 cw: 258

Hi everyone, I was sleeved on Tuesday the 20th and every time I cough or sneeze it feels like the skin about an inch above my belly button is on fire and/or splitting. I'm hoping it's not a hernia. The burning sensation is unreal! I wear my binder and cough with pillows but it still causes excruciating pain. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you! I'll take the pain for 6 weeks if it means I don't have a hernia! I really don't want to go through another surgery for a while!

My perseverance and dedication has paid off. I was sleeved yesterday and it's hard to believe. I lost 25 lbs during my pre op diet and was amazed. I can't wait to see what the future holds! Cheers to the skinny life ahead! sw: 284 cw: 263 surgery 6/20/17

The procedure itself was a lot better than expected recovery is worse. I had my gallbladder out in 2011 and was thinking it would be similar but my torso is on fire. Just stay in top of your meds! It's been 3 days and it's beginning to subside. Best of luck! sw: 284 cw: 263 surgery 6/20/17

Yes I was discharged yesterday morning. My pain is in my abdomen. It's hard to stand while sitting. I miss the IV pain meds for sure! Good luck with everything! I hope you get to go home soon!

I got my surgery date yesterday! It's June 20th. I have a class next Monday to learn more in depth about the pre-op necessities but would like to start my pre-op diet now to get a good 2 weeks in before surgery. I have the basic outline but I need more examples of what the pre-op diet includes. Could you guys please give me a general outline for what your pre-op diet is? Thanks so much!

How are you feeling? I am incredibly sore!

I just need some encouragement. I've been on my pre op diet for almost 2 weeks and haven't cheated once. I have surgery tues 6.20. I'm at my nephews bday party and there is so much food and everyone's eating and having a great time and I'm so hungry! I'm chugging my protein drink like there s no tomorrow but it's mentally taking a toll on me. I feel so left out. I'm hanging out outside to resist temptations. I'm almost there. 1. More. Day. I drink premier protein clear. It's fruit punch flavored, 16.9 ounces. It has 20 grams of protein, 90 calories and no sugar. It's what I've been living on! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Thanks everyone. I got a definitive answer. I am allowed 4 protein drinks, and up to 6 servings of: 1/2 c cream of wheat, 1 c carrots/celery, 1 sugar-free jello/pudding, 6 oz broth, 1/2 c unsweetened applesauce, per day. I have lost almost 13 lbs and have been on the diet for a week. Pretty exciting!

My surgery is scheduled for June 20th and I am so excited to feel better! Do any fellow sleevers have MS? I'd love to hear if/how being sleeved changed the disease and/or symptoms. Having RRMS was is my main motivation. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

I know I know, this topic is beating a dead horse but it's my first post here and everything for BCBSM that I could find was almost 10 years old! I have BCBSM and have my last of my consecutive appts next week. My paperwork will then be submitted to my insurance company. What is everyones experience with the approval process for BCBS of Michigan? My surgeons office told me they only have 15 days to consider it but I'm hoping for (but not relying on) a much quicker response! Thanks everyone! It's great to be part of the group! Danielle
