    Sick of the BS

@OutsideMatchInside - Where do you live? I'm moving because where I am it's the opposite! XD

Which Foods Can’t You Eat Now?

I'm just over 4 months out and I can tolerate everything and I mean everything.:( I was hoping it would be harder to eat than I'm finding it but mostly if I stick to a routine I'm ok.

    Quest Protein Bars?

Pros - Very portable/durable, high fiber so more filling Cons - Not a huge fan of the taste, haven't found a flavor I'm fond of yet. For taste alone I prefer Pure protein bars which are also significantly cheaper, but they don't have the fiber and they have a melty coating.

    How to forgive someone?

@Nate74 It is admirable to try to hold on to your marriage, but at some point you have to realize that it takes two to make a marriage. You need to take care of yourself physically, spiritually and emotionally and staying with a person who is unable to love you is not doing that. I stuck with my estranged husband of 18yrs through 4 horrible years of marriage, hoping things would improve and giving my best. It turns out that he had already emotionally moved on and was having an affair for those years. You need to draw healthy boundaries for what you can and can't live with in your marriage. If your wife isn't willing to work with you, you can't fix things by yourself. Open communication is the only hope for this type of thing.

    Stall

I think I wrote the exact same post as you 2 weeks out. I shed a chunk of weight pretty fast post surgery and then BAM - nothing! I think it took more than 2 more weeks before I started losing again. Two things have helped me deal with this: 1. Stop weighing yourself as much as possible - The more I weigh myself the more frantic and discouraged I get. The focus works better if you just try to put it on building a new, healthy lifestyle instead of looking at the numbers as much. 2. Look at the overall loss - You have lost X amount of weight in Y time period. I'm 3.5 months out and I've lost 33.5lbs in that time. I think there were 3 consecutive weeks where I lost nothing but overall I'm happy with the change. Remember this post and, in a few months when you see some other new sleever posting about their stall make sure to come back and reassure them;)
  6. Online communities attract people who are not afraid to speak their mind. There are also plenty of lurkers who never utter a "peep". You have to develop a tough skin to put yourself out anywhere on the internet - even here. There are also wonderful supportive people who you will click with. Focus on them and don't worry about those who communicate differently than you do. I'm a peep aficionado myself, but unless you ate a carton of them, it's no big. I personally ate a Cadbury egg already and Easter isn't even here :-O
  7. I think that those of us who lost a significant amount of weight prior to surgery and are closer to goal can lose more slowly than those with more to lose or who have been losing for longer. My weight loss is slow and seems to happen in small bursts since my Jan 3 surgery. I'm finding that less weighing myself helps me not fixate on it so much. Keep doing what you need to be doing and you will get there - that's what they tell me!

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

I'm totally stalled too and have been for like 6 weeks. I lost 18lbs the first two weeks and then nearly nothing since. I'm doing what I need to do but it's really bumming me out:(

    Looking for January 2017 sleevers

Still stalled. No movement and I'm starting to lose it. I may wind up as the only person on these boards who says that given the chance they wouldn't do it again:(

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

I'm nearly 2 months out and I haven't lost an ounce in the last 4 weeks. I see the doctor tomorrow but I have no idea what's wrong:(

    Looking for January 2017 sleevers

Ugh - I've been on a month long plateau! I go to the doctor on Wednesday and find out if I should still be throwing up what I eat 2-3x a week and why, if I'm doing what I'm supposed to, I'm not losing any weight. How are you all doing?

    I need help

Have you tried the what was said above about eating dense protein? It makes sense to me. You are having a tough time but you can do this! I know you can. If you didn't care you wouldn't be here asking for help.

    I need help

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss! I am no stranger to emotional eating and binging. How do you manage to binge when the pouch doesn't let you eat very much at one time?

    Stall at 2 weeks?

I'm embracing, but I've been stalled for 2 weeks now and I was only sleeved on 1/3 so this is super frustrating! I am thinking that despite getting my Protein, I'm not getting enough calories and I need to eat more. I have trouble keeping solids down still though and I'm also not meeting my Water goals. I am trying my best but I hate throwing up! I just want to see those darned numbers move so I know all this hard work is paying off! Please, someone tell me where I can pick up some patience!

ISO size 24 bottoms 3x/4x tops

I have some, Emily although I don't know from where - lots of my clothes have come from Macy's. How tall are you? I'm fairly short and an apple rather than a pear. Let me know if you are interested and I will work on pictures.

Anyone 5'3-ish and HW around 230?

@@kimber111 If you are logged in you should see "quote" on the bottom in line with the "report" button. The only time I don't see that is if I've somehow wound up logged out! Let me know if that helps!

Anyone 5'3-ish and HW around 230?

I'm In San Jose, CA and I had my surgery 1/3 at Kaiser Fremont.

Anyone 5'3-ish and HW around 230?

I was told 10% of my weight Sent from my SM-S978L using the BariatricPal App So far I havent been told I have to do the Options class. In our handbook and at the 4 hr orientation they didnt talk about that step at all SunshineUnicorn You're Kaiser, right? I'm telling you, they want you to lose 10% of your highest recorded weight in the last calendar year. When I went for my first weigh in during August, I was 216 but I was already 50lbs lower than my high weight of 265 in March of last year so they were willing to schedule me right away. I wasn't available until Jan so we made it then. I also was told by my surgeon that I didn't need to fast at all pre-surgery because my BMI was already fairly low. The concerns about the liver are less pressing for them if you're below a certain BMI I think. Let me know if I can help at all in any way:)

Anyone 5'3-ish and HW around 230?

Close - I'm 5'2.5". I was 265 last March, 211 on 1/3 for surgery and 192 today! I'm always happy to have a support friend:)

    Stall at 2 weeks?

I have had something similar - I lost 10.5 lbs in the first 10 days. I'm now 32 days out and I've been losing super slowly ever since and I'm down a total of 19lbs. I find it very discouraging at times, hearing about other people's rapid weigh loss but then I think "Wow, I lost nearly 20lbs in ONE MONTH!" That's a pretty good deal! I just keep on keeping on and have faith that given how few calories I'm taking in it should be almost impossible for me not to lose weight in the long term.
  22. I am interested in the male perspective. I know that heavy men have trouble getting dates (although I think it depends on build...a beer belly seems perfectly acceptable). I never saw it run over so much in the workplace. I know that as an overweight female my job prospects are much lower and I can't really advance in my field the same way I could if I were thin. Thin women are everywhere in the media but the men on TV and in movies aren't always equivalent. Being a fat woman always feels like a stigma and it's one that I'm afraid I will mentally live with for the rest of my life regardless of my weight. Men get to wear pretty generic suits whereas women have to look fashionable, style their hair, wear make up...so much of who we are depends on what we look like:( I know we live in a society that still considers bias against the overweight acceptable, but I think that women get the brunt of it because we're judged on our looks in so many ways that men aren't.

    Irrational fears?

I'm 5'2" an I was 265 at the start of the journey. I lost a bunch of weight before the surgery so now, just over 4 weeks out, I'm 192. I feel the same way you describe yourself! I look in the mirror and I think I look fine. When I see a picture of me I want to cry. Now that I'm down nearly 70lbs I am afraid to see a picture...what if I still hate the way I look? It's scary to think that I could work so hard and still not be happy with it:(

    Looking for January 2017 sleevers

WOW!!! The difference between men and women. I was sleeved 1/10 and down 12 lbs ikr? I was like WOW! I lost 18lbs the first 4 weeks total and I was ready to be jealous until I realized he was a he;) My weight loss seems to crawl for a week or two and then 3 or 4 pounds drop off at once. It's frustrating in the short term but as long as it's consistent over time, I'll take it!
