    Pissed Off and Rebelling

@PatientEleventlyBillion I watched the Bernie Sanders & Ted Cruz debate about healthcare & all Ted said was government should run our health care since he totally opposes it. I don't get why we're the only civilized country without it. I rather our tax money go to that than war. Thanks for this good convo. I admire how Canada & other countries handle Universal Health Care. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). 2. 1 month today & this is the first day I felt as close to normal as possible. I haven't updated my stats yet but I lost 30 lbs in one month. I'm amazed. I asked because here in the States bureaucratic is always used in a negative connotation. We don't have universal healthcare & the people that don't want us to have it always say we shouldn't have Government running our healthcare. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Ground beef

I'm in the puree phase and had very moist ground beef yesterday, mashed of course. It went down fine for me. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Tattoos?

I'm full of tattoos & they never told me that. In fact, my last tat was in December and I got sleeved in February. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. I didn't have to wait that long. It took me 4 1/2 months from the day I was approved to have surgery to surgery date. I think waiting is good because between those 4 months there were so many hoops I had to jump through. I also smoked cigarettes occasionally so they wanted to make sure I quit before surgery. I also took A LOT of tests to make sure I'm healthy enough to have surgery, the psychologist appointment, nutrition classes (I had 3), & being prepared mentally & physically to accept the fact I won't eat for 6 weeks in total. 2-weeks of pre-op liquids & 4 weeks post op liquids ONLY is not easy. But it was all or nothing at this point. Even though it took months to get the surgery, it's still a light at the end of the tunnel. Don't give up, if this is what you really want. Use this 6-month period for more mental preparation & slowly changing your habits to loose more weight before surgery. It's not easy to be sleeved. I underestimated the pain & have to adjust to a whole new life style. But it's worth it. I haven't updated my stats here but I lost 30 lbs in 1 month post-op. It's worth the waiting, pain, & a little suffering for me at least. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). Would you rather pay for the surgery outright since it seems you don't like universal health care? I feel blessed to not have to pay for my surgery or else I wouldn't afford it. Puree phase unpleasant

Thanks everyone. I stopped eating scrambled eggs & now make deviled eggs. I'm surprised scrambled eggs was an okay for puree according to my nutritionist. It is too hard, in my opinion. It feels like when I first got my surgery. I had to learn how to drink all over again. Now I have to learn how to eat. I'll cook the ricotta bake the end of the week. That blog has really good recipes & it seems just about everyone here enjoys the ricotta bake. I'm day 3 of purée and today was the first day I felt better about eating. I'm sick of shakes & glad I'm on this phase. I can't imagine how soft foods will be next week. [emoji15] Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. I cheated

The pre-op diet really prepares you for what's next to come after surgery. March 13th is two days away. Make sure you stick to your liquid diet. Some doctors open up their patients just to close them up again because they couldn't operate on them because of food in stomach, etc... you don't want to be disappointed. Any one feeling like this

My Bariatric doctor has set up appointments for me every 3-months for the year (3 month follow up, 6 month follow up, 9 month follow up, 12 months (1 year) follow up). Since you're 7 months post op, you should still contact your Bariatric doctor or nurse. They will let you know what's going on & then direct you to the right department. You don't need to figure it out on your own. Your medical staff are the experts. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Constipation

I made an error in my post, I meant Benefiber. We consume so much protein which makes our poop so hard. Fiber helps it go through more. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Constipation

I keep track of my bowel movements in my mini planner. When I see I'm 2-days with no bowel movement, I take Miralax. One cup for that day is all I need. 16. I had sex last week, which was my 3rd week post op. I was still sore but I wanted to have sex. I couldn't do many positions since I was still sore so if your partner doesn't mind you laying while they're on top, you'll be fine. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. My doctor told me if I have a fever or hard time swallowing, that I need to call them or go to the E.R. asap! Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. I'm not sure what MOM is but I have Miralax, it's a stool softener. Also, adding beneprotein every few days helps with softening the stool too. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Craving spaghetti

You're welcome. I found this blog the other night. The woman is Italian so she has a lot of good Italian recipes & other food. She had WLS too. Just click search and type pasta. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Craving spaghetti

There was a recipe I found of sweet Maui onions to substitute the noodles. I haven't tried it yet since I'm only going into my puree phase on Monday. Booze!!

My doctor said to wait for a year too. I won't be able to since I'm going on vacation in May. Which is like 3-months post op. I'm planning on trying Sangria first since it's my favorite wine & its "healthy" since fruits are usually added to it, so there goes the natural sugars. 22. Thanks. I didn't discuss the "cosmetic" part of the surgery with my doctor like scars & loose skin since All we talked about was the safety of the surgery & they were making sure I'd be prepared for the Diet phases. 23. On Monday, I will be 1 month post-op (yay!). So, the left side of my stomach where the big incision is looks more "sucked in" than my right side. I understand why. My question is, will my stomach look "normal" again? Or will my left side always have that "sucked in" looking Area? When did your scars disappear? Especially the big one? I want to wear a bikini one day but not if I have surgery scars & an uneven stomach LOL. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. 24. It's too early for me to know if I'll have excess skin yet on my tummy. But I am prepared to get plastic surgery especially if I lose my boobs. 25. Wow [emoji15] I seen other people's progression pictures. I'll remind myself now to look on their left side to see. It's something I never noticed before even looking at people's before & after pictures. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs.
