I'm 6-weeks post op this week & I started working out this week. I do cardio only, for now. 2 miles a day of low incline speed walking (sounds like "nothing" but believe me, I'm sweating & my heart rate goes up). I only consume 60 - 75 grams of protein a day because it's still hard for me to eat much. I'm exhausted after my workout instead of feeling energized. How do I get over this? I know I should up my protein but it's hard for me to. I do want to work out (& I actually always enjoyed working out) so I can continue loosing a good amount of weight. I hate protein drinks now. How do you all do your ab workouts? I'm scared to do crunches because of my new stomach. I think at 6-weeks we're not fully healed yet, right? Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. The nurse just told me I could workout. We didn't get into specifics except no lifting over 20 lbs until after 6-weeks. This was during my 2-weeks follow up appointment. I was still in pain so I didn't even think about crunches/ab workouts. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). In my opinion, the 2-weeks pre op liquid diet was the hardest part of the whole journey (yes, surgery pain sucked too but there's pain meds for that). I stayed away from restaurants & from my social life so I wouldn't have to see people eat. When my fiancé ate I went to the other room till he was done. Staying away helped & realizing this is temporary until surgery. Stay busy these 2-weeks so you won't think about food & get distracted doing other things. I love food, if I can do this, You can do it. Good luck! Stay strong. [emoji846] Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. I did, I made it into guacamole. Basically, mashed it, squeeze some lime juice, salt, & pepper on top. On my book from my nutritionist, it says I should only eat 1/4 of an avocado a day because of the (healthy) fat in them. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. What do you think of the ingredients? It's low fat, low carbs, & low calories - so do you think it'll be okay to eat? If you tired it, does it taste good to you? Am I losing too quickly?
CocoNina replied to Gerri Anna Hedgepeth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6-weeks post op & lost 37 lbs so far (I haven't updated my status yet). I lost the most weight the first month. Between last week & this week I only lost 1 lbs. but losing is losing. I haven't made a steady exercise routine yet. I think we're doing just fine. Our bodies are responding well & so far my doctor is really happy. Congrats to all of us with successful results. Already cheating 5 months post op

Show him pictures of how far he's gone from before surgery to his current -115 lbs self. It works for me when I feel like giving in. If that doesn't work, he could see a support group or get professional help either from his nutritionist, or psychologist. Food addiction sucks & the sad part is we all need to eat, but to eat out of control, there is an underlying emotional issue that needs to be fixed. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. True. It is soft foods. I'm just so paranoid in gaining weight this early on when I'm losing rapidly. I've lost 37 lbs so far (I haven't updated my signature yet) & in my mind I feel once I'm at goal or close to goal I can start to slowly re-introduce some of the things I loved to eat like (halo) ice cream (in moderation of course).

What is your daily menu/meal plan

12 Days Post Op and I Feel like the food I'm eating daily is wrong.. HELP ME!
CocoNina replied to chrissyliezl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe as long as you're eating fat free, low fat, low carbs, high protein you should be fine. Ricotta bake has a lot of protein because all the cheeses. The chicken potato with carrots on your list you should watch out for because potatoes & carrots are starchy. But if your nutritionist approved it, you're fine. CocoNina replied to chrissyliezl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my puree stage I had fat free refried beans, deviled eggs, & was allowed baked salmon, tuna with low fat mayo, & ricotta bake. It went by fast. No problems for me, I still lost like 5 more pounds during this phase (my 4th week pre-op). Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Congrats! It took me a full month to feel a lot better from the pain & soreness. I also lost about 30 lbs my first month. It's so worth it. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Thank you all. I think it's too early for me to try it yet since I'm only 6-weeks post op. But summer's around the corner & I do need my (healthy) ice cream fix when that time comes. I'm 6 weeks out. Yes, I have those days. These past 2 days I feel so low energy even though I'm meeting my protein goals & close to goal with water. I don't know why I have on & off energy days or on & off "100%" days. I want to feel normal or 100 every day. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. size of sleeve / portion stomach removed matter?
CocoNina replied to bariboy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm not sure the answer. I only have 70 lbs altogether to lose & I'm petite but still cut out 80% of my stomach. This would be a good question to ask the surgeon when you go in for a consultation. size of sleeve / portion stomach removed matter?
CocoNina replied to bariboy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I could only stomach 2 1/2 oz of food a sitting. I'm almost 6 weeks out. Looking at that plate I could only take 3 bites of turkey, 3 bites of mash, one bite of asparagus. I doubt I'd have room for a bite of stuffing after eating what I just mentioned. By the way, this used to be one of my favorite foods ever (turkey, mash, & stuffing). You can still eat this months after surgery, but with the stomach being 80% cut off it will be significantly smaller portion. Which is fine for me. I was fat because I could go for 3 of these plates before. Now the thought of it makes my tummy hurt. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. No one knows I did the surgery except my fiancé & a close friend. I didn't want to hear anyone's negativity & to me, it's no one business what I do with my body. Everyone (co-workers, friends, family) know I've been struggling with weight for years & know I'm always on a diet. I lost a little over 30 lbs in a month but it looks healthy, not drastic. I don't even think many people noticed I lost that much weight. If anyone asks, I'll just tell them I've been exercising & dieting - no carbs, smaller portions which is practically the truth. I just leave the surgery part out of it. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). I do long for my old favorites but know the difference. Diet root beer floats, beer, & wine are "bad" but I did not swear them off. I will ONE day drink these again because I want & choose too. It won't be excessive & everyday. Shoot, it's better than when I used to drink Starbucks frappucinos, milk shakes, etc... I could live without those now. Forgot i was on post liquid diet!!!

It hasn't happened to me since drinking liquids was hard enough, I couldn't imagine putting food in my stomach. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. I bought mine in Walgreens because it was for medical use. I was too afraid if I bought one at a fitness store like Dick's it wouldn't be for my needs since I assume my incisions need to breath & not sweat like most fitness compression garments do.
