TSA body scan anomaly after surgery
CocoNina replied to Oneiannie's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I traveled for the first time since surgery last week and I didn't experience that. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). Current weight: 158.4 lbs My profile picture is not me. It's my "FITspiration" body. -
Thank you. I'm so mind-blown about how little I can eat & to see how much I used to be able to eat. I'm losing a lot faster than I expected, but that's a good thing. I hope all is well for you too with the weight loss surgery. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). I'm 3 months post-op too. I can only consume 2 to 3 1/2 ounces of protein in one siting. I get full very easily in just 3 or 4 bites? I can't eat a whole egg (scrambled). So food-wise I'm still consuming small. But what I am happy about is that I can gulp my water & iced tea. I'm more thirsty than hungry now. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Binge eating disorder
CocoNina replied to nomorefattypatty's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
WLS is a tool & everything after that is mental (for me). It takes discipline to have successful results & not go back to old habits. You should see a therapist before surgery, then you can be more prepared. Good luck. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). Current weight: 160 lbs My profile picture is not me. It's my "FITspiration" body. -
I got tired of protein drinks after, altogether, 6 weeks of liquids only & having them 3-4 times a day. This week I'm 2 months post op & ever since I was allowed to eat regular food, I've had eggs for breakfast everyday & a lot of variations (vegetable & protein scrambled, hard boiled, over easy, etc...) I'm sick of eggs now. To the point where I just don't finish my breakfast anymore. What do you have for breakfast besides protein drinks & eggs? P.S. before surgery I never ate breakfast, I'm not a breakfast person. I just made my coffee & go. Now that I'm post op, it's crucial for me to have breakfast & I lost my taste for coffee [emoji853] Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Carbonated beverages?
CocoNina replied to heylizzyclay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My experience with carbonated beverages: I can take a sip of my fiancé's soda & be fine. I even had 4 oz of a root beer float. Both occasions I was fine because my stomach was empty. One time after I ate, I had a sip of my fiancé's soda & I ran to the bathroom & threw up. The carbonation made the food come up for whatever reason. So, for me, carbonation is okay with an empty stomach. But I don't consume much just 2 to 4 fluid oz. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. It's happened to me when I first started eating solids. My stomach would hurt, I threw up, and needed to lie down. I was told it was dumping syndrome because I ate too fast or maybe the food I ate had too much of something in it (sugar? Salt? ....). Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). Current weight: 160 lbs My profile picture is not me. It's my "FITspiration" body.

What are you substituting for the comfort that food brings?
CocoNina replied to Sosewsue61's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree. I was focusing on studies, work, walking, & socializing better (like without food & alcohol). Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. How long till you hit GOAL Weight?
CocoNina replied to XmeghannstarX's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My info is in my signature. I'm 3 months post-op & 20 lbs away from my goal. For me, I responded fast & had no major health conditions getting into surgery. I was just obese. I also had less than 100 lbs to lose. I walk 5 days a week & have a physical job. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). Current weight: 160 lbs My profile picture is not me. It's my "FITspiration" body. -
Day 5 - suprised to be hungry
CocoNina replied to jaminator's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had that maybe my 1st week. My nutritionist said I had to up my protein to 60-80 grams to help me feel more full. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. If I lived in South Florida, I'd so be your friend! I know this is cliche but I do believe true love happens when you least expect it. My fiancé found me 12 years ago when I didn't give a rat's a$$ about love. I think when you live life for the moment, things will just fit. I never done online dating but for me, I'm way too "old school". I've met people online (for friendship) & from my experience, people aren't always what they "post" to be. I couldn't do online dating if it were an option, but that's just me. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). Did anyone receive a card to order from kid menu?
CocoNina replied to Rita48's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I never heard of this card. When I go out to eat with my fiancé, we split his plate & now going out is cheaper. LOL. I like having left overs too since I barely have time to cook. Not going to apologize for being vain
CocoNina replied to ryan_86's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For me, I was fed up with being obese. I am already healthy so the surgery was for prevention. But of course vanity is part of it too. I wasn't always obese, only the past 9 years, I missed my old sexy self & I want to look hot for my man too & not cover up during sex since I was so insecure being big. Very emotional after the sleeve procedure
CocoNina replied to carlychloe2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was emotional the first month post-op. A lot of emotions from "regret" (because of the pain) & missing food (4-weeks post op liquids only). It's passed fully after the 2nd month and I feel better than ever now. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). It depend on your body and what your dietitian says to you. For me I can't consume much at all because carbs are a no-no for me. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. I've read on the boards (not my experience) that when you work out a lot & don't consume enough protein & calories, your body stalls because it's like being in "starvation mode". I weigh myself once a week, Sunday mornings. The reason why I gained weight before is because I didn't own a scale & didn't keep track of my habits. I find myself being more conscious (weighing weekly, weighing my food every time I eat, tracking my bowel movements, etc...) has helped me greatly loose these first 50 lbs post WLS. I bring food I don't need to make like: Sandwich meat, hard boiled eggs (prepared days before), cheese, tuna from a can, & sometimes order cheese burgers when I don't have food to bring, just remove the bread. what was your miserable phase?
CocoNina replied to Lola4rmKona's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
After surgery I was on liquids only for 4 weeks. Week 5: Puree. Week 6: soft foods. Week 7 to rest of my life: Regular healthier foods. Minimal carbs, small portions. I've lost 50 lbs so far & only in 2 1/2 months post op. The miserable phases are worth it. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). Current weight: 165.6 lbs My profile picture is not me. It's my "FITspiration" body. -
