How did you get through pre-op liquid diet?
CocoNina posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello everyone, My 2 weeks pre-op diet starts Monday (January 30th). I bought my multi-Vitamins so I don't get malnourished. I have A LOT of Protein in stock & Clear liquids (case of diet Snapple, sugar free Kool-Aid, & Power Aid Zero). I think I'm pretty much prepared for the 2 weeks. I'm nervous and excited. I know it'll be tough. For those that have already went through the 2-weeks pre-op liquid diet, what did you do to prepare? What's your advice on how to get through it? I'm so scared to fail. I don't want to be in the operating table just to not get the surgery done because I cheated the 2 weeks, etc... I'm determined to get through it but your stories are comforting so I can get an idea of what to expect. Height 5'0" Weight for consultation: 216 lbs. Pre-op Weight: Unknown until January 20th. How did you get through pre-op liquid diet?

My BMI is 41 & I'm still required to do the pre-op 2 weekS liquid diet. Thank you to all those with their advice or sharing your experiences. The detox part is what I'm most afraid of. I know it will end soon one day at a time for those 14 days. These will probably be the longest 2 weeks of my life. LOL. Height 5'0" Weight for consultation: 216 lbs. I don't have any advice because my surgery isn't until next month. But I'm curious to know too so I'm following your post. Height 5'0" Weight for consultation: 216 lbs. Pre-op Weight: Unknown until January 20th. My profile picture is not me. It's my "FitSpiration" body. -
I'm a woman yet I can relate. I don't think I'm that big until I look at myself completely naked in the mirror or see "stolen" shots of me. It's depressing but there is a light at the end of the tunnel with the weight loss surgery. Height 5'0" Weight for consultation: 216 lbs. Pre-op Weight: Unknown until January 20th. I'm a social drinker so I wonder about alcohol too. I would like to drink again & have a normal social life as I do now. My surgery isn't until next month, my doctor advises to wait a year but he also said we can drink in 6 months post-op but to just be cautious because I'll get drunk faster & calories. I'm on Wellbutrin XL & my surgery isn't until next month. The nurse told me I may go through hormonal changes with weight loss & may need to lower my dosage in the future. That's the only feedback I have. I liked your post because I have no idea what to expect with my anti depressants after surgery. Height 5'0" Weight for consultation: 216 lbs. I already know my sex life will be better after surgery. It'll put my confidence up. I always cover my stomach, afraid to do other moves because of my fat. Can't wait!! I'm on anti-depressants. The psych doctor made sure that medication wouldn't affect my surgery. I've see. A therapist in the past & my psych doctor just needed clearance from my therapist that I'm mentally prepared to have surgery. And everything turned out to be fine. My surgery date is next month. I enjoy reading people's success and misery throughout this process. It helps me be mentally prepared. I'm really good at handling "pain". I'm mentally excited & prepared to take the "pain" since I'll be losing weight, finally!! This is my only option. You have to do what you feel is right in your heart. I been struggling with my weight since 2008 when I was at my peak weight which was 230 lbs +. I exercised, dieted, purchased weight loss pills, etc... I lost some weight but for some reason I can not get below 197 lbs. I needed help. I spent thousands of dollars in weight loss programs the beginning of 2015. Last year I went as far as to use laxatives to try to lose weight. I had an accident at work and it was embarrassing (pooped in my pants). I googled weight loss surgery & assumed I wouldn't be a candidate because I don't need to lose over 100 lbs. I found out after researching that my insurance covers WLS. I still had my doubts but I made the appointment & got approved for WLS since my BMI is 41. I'm glad I did not let my doubts get to me. Height 5'0" Weight for consultation: 216 lbs. Losing fast after surgery

I hope my body responds that way too when I have my surgery 2/13/17. That's awesome that you lost that much so far. As long as you follow your nutritional plan of Protein & liquid, you should be fine. Height 5'0" Weight for consultation: 216 lbs. Pre-op Weight: Unknown until January 20th. Three days of liquids
CocoNina replied to Sunshine4247's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My 2-weeks pre op liquid diet starts January 30th. You can ask your nutritionist, but mine said in our class that we can eat steamed green vegetables like celery, lettuce, etc... but when we chew it, it has to be almost liquid consistency. But that's last resort if we're too hungry after shakes & Clear Liquids. I'm planning on staying as busy as I can those two weeks just so I don't think about food. I know it'll be tough but we can do it!! Hang in there. Height 5'0" Weight for consultation: 216 lbs. Pre-op Weight: Unknown until January 20th. My profile picture is not me. Hi everyone, I'm new here but have been browsing this site for weeks. I'm finally going to have my sleeve surgery February 13th. I'm in College and I work, yet no one (except my boyfriend & 1 trusted friend) knows that I'm doing this. I'm petite, only 5'0" but I struggle to get below 195 lbs. These past few years that I been obese, I'm always yo-yo-ing between 197 - 230 lbs. I carry my weight well and as a spur of the moment conversation with my hair stylist, I told her I'm thinking of weight loss surgery & she told me I don't need it because my fat is in "all the right places". People don't understand so I decided to keep my weight loss surgery a secret. Has anyone else here kept their w.l.s a secret? What excuse did you give your work and/or college when you needed time off? I'm planning on only taking a week off from work and school but I don't know what to say as an excuse to give. I really don't want to say I'm getting w.l.s because it's personal to me and I don't want to hear people's opinions of what I should and shouldn't do with my body. Thanks! (My post won't scroll anymore, forgive the errors below. I was spelling "thanks" & couldn't see it. Th Tha Height 5'0" Weight for consultation: 216 lbs. Pre-op Weight:

This was a very informative post. I start my 2-week pre-op liquid diet January 30th & my fear is I won't lose enough weight. It's reassuring to remember it's for the liver not necessarily the weight loss which is after surgery. Height 5'0" Weight for consultation: 216 lbs. Pre-op Weight: Unknown until January 20th. That's great! I'm going on vacation in May to an all inclusive resort which means alcohol and food everywhere (just like Vegas). It seems majority of people on this forum can now resist old temptations after surgery. I can't wait to experience that next month when I get my surgery. Height 5'0" Weight for consultation: 216 lbs.
