Banded one year, no weight loss
morganfrmn replied to Suz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my doctor says eat protein first. we have 3 phases two weeks of liquid two weeks of mushy and then meals... But my liquids are slim fast low carb. So mushy means mushy meats... and when meals start that means a piece of meat and some green beans.... Even if your doing 3 or 4 quarter cups of food a day if those are pasta, and patotes then its going to be tough.... try the low carb.... -

dietition says if I dont follow diet..........
morganfrmn replied to reenie11's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
well my surgeon said no prop diet. Just for people with 50 or more bmi. I have a 44 bmi and I am 150 pounds over weight. So i have been having a lot of last meals... I have started the 3 day clean out fast and that is it.... My doctor does this for a living... that is all he does.... has done over 800 maybe 900.... You should be using a doctor that has done this a lot... A real expreienced doctor would not think that you could go without food. Hello, that is why your having the surgery because you cant control how much you eat... If you could then there would be no need for the surgery.. The dietician will also tell you that you cant have any alchol ever and that you cant ever have a soda again either... -
If your on the highest sitting which I belive is 25 then you obiviously have a real problem. Mine is set on 13. and I had 55 breathing occurances during my sleep study. My oxygen fell off to below 80. My doctor told me I have sever sleep apnea and he said if I have to sleep without the cpap then dont sleep or call 911. So if your set to 25 then its obiviously a life or death issue. You really need to wear that machine. Get yourself the full face mask. And suffer through eventually you will be able to wear it. Lots of folks go to sleep without there cpap and dont wake up... so good luck...

I love my cpap.... I dont ever intend on stoping using it. So even if they say I dont need it any more.... I love all that air.

Is it wrong to tell a white lie???
morganfrmn replied to Thin4Anisha's topic in Insurance & Financing
The correct and moral thing to do here is to become self supporting. At age 25 the only thing you should be taking from your parents is a small birthday present and a reasonable christmas present and thats it. In fact you should be giving them birthday and christmas presents. So do a self review and if dad is paying for your cell phone or car insurance or car payment or student loans or health insurance go and have all that stoped. Decide to be an adult then walk in to your jobs hr department and sign up for your very own health insurance and if any one says anything to you then say "I am 25 and I need to stand on my own two feet" Not only will you be doing the right thing but people will respect you for it. Mom and Dad will respect you as well. -

call your parents up and have them cancel your coverage. They will just have to go to the web page of the insurance company since your 25. then call up your employeer and tell them that your plan has been canceled...and enroll in your employeers plan..... there is no lie there or deception what so ever.... all that will be true. your plan was canceled...... thats true.... and even if you had to answer how your plan was canceled you could say my parents canceled my plan..... and that would be true as well.... -
I have this same insurance and I have sleep apnea and they pay 70% for equipment. I think your stuck with the big payment because you did not spend the night. sorry dude. How does this bc/bs basic pay for lapband fills....????

Why did you choose lap band over bypass?
morganfrmn replied to maryomalley's topic in Insurance & Financing
I also had the h pylori and I always feel as if i have so small sore in my stomach and I weigh 338 pounds. So my stomach has went through a lot of abuse and has seen more than its fair share of use. So i dont want it sitting over to the side just making acid. I want to be able to put a little milk in it or put some tums in there if necessary.:grouphug: -
I get banded april 15. your telling me i will have to give up diet soda.... I probably drink 1 or 2 two liters each day.... what will i do... holy molie:confused2:

Why did you choose lap band over bypass?
morganfrmn replied to maryomalley's topic in Insurance & Financing
the reason I choose lapband over bypass was very scientific. 1. With the lap band on a doctor can reduce the preasure and send a scope down to look in your stomach for ulcers and cancer and such. With the gastric bypass they sit a large part of your stomach to the side and staple it closed. there is no access to this stomach. It just sits there and produces acid and drops that acid into your intestine. So if you get an ulcer or cancer there is no way to send a scope down your throat and look in this second stomach. 2. lapband is reverseable and the other surgeries are not.... I knew a person who died of stomach cancer and my grand father had stomach cancer so i want the doctors to have access to my stomach for the future incase I have any problems... or for early diagnosis -
I have federal bcbs basic and I was approved over the phone and got the approval by the time I arrived at home. So it was really quick. my date is april 15. Does anyone know how many fills are covered by fed bcbs :cool:basic.
