I feel ya!!! I am actually going through a different surgeon than when I initially started. I wanted to use the one my best friend did because I heard great things about her and when I was getting scheduled for wrap up appointment she was booked until the 28th and I definitely didn't want to wait that long so I switched surgeons. Had my wrap up appointment with surgeon on Tuesday. Called insurance to see if they received approval request and they didn't so I called hospital and billing told me that they won't send out til next week because they go in order received. I don't understand why they couldn't send out approval request before my wrap up appointment. I mean all we did was discuss surgery and risk. I have Cigna so not sure hold they take to approve. I had my final meeting with my nutritionist last week and she said she was approving me for surgery that I am ready. She said I have to wait for insurance to approve it and then will have a wrap up apt scheduled with surgeon. I called insurance to verify how long it takes them to approve and they said up to 5 business days and that they hadn't received an authorization from my dr. Any thoughts as to what I should do? I'm trying to find a way to tell my mom,stepdad, and sister. My close friends, dad,grandmas and aunt know. My best friend had her surgery last May and they completely knocked the surgery. I'm scared to tell them and afraid they won't support my decision. I have my last appointment next month before scheduling my surgery. Was thinking of telling them once I have my date. Good luck!!! I'm new to all this and just wanted some insight. I have my final nutritionist appointment on the 31st. I was told after that i will be scheduled to meet with surgeon.
