On Mexico Bariatric Center fb, there is a recipe for shampoo. Easy and not so expensive compared to Nioxin that is to help with hair loss. Has peppermint and rosemary oils plus some other stuff. I'm gonna try it this week. Waiting for peppermint oil. I started loosong my already thin hair 2 mths out. It sucks. I take 6000 biotin a day.

Wouldn't call it a funeral, but...
sxynana replied to stayingyoung's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get it. My husband and I enjoyed our eating out dates, trying new places and new foods. And I won't go to all you can eats or spend $11.00 gor 4 bites of food. Not happening. HOWEVER, we do eat out maybe 2x a mth but only at places that will let me order 1/2 plates or off the kids menu (not too many choices here) and I still have left overs. Good luck Sent from my SM-J700T1 using the BariatricPal App -

Dr. Cabrera with Mexico Bariatric Center. LOVE HIM and so will you. The whole experience was great. I opted not to get tourism insurance and am thankful I didn't need it. It was too expensive to purchase but more expensive if I didn't purchase and needed. Do your research and talk with coordinator about this if you have to go Mexico route. Good luck and hope your insurance covers it tho. Sent from my SM-J700T1 using the BariatricPal App

I lost 50 lbs on the 2 month pre op diet. My dr didnt say how much I needed to loose but tbe day before surgery he said he only expected me to lose 25-30, but was glad I lost as much as I did BECAUSE my liver and other organs needed to be healthy for surgery and lowered risks. So I too am glad I lost ad much as I did. So keep going! Sent from my SM-J700T1 using the BariatricPal App

This is a difficult one because you could lose so much in such a short time. I'd do like the above says but find a reputable seamstress who can guarantee good work in a quick way. Does that make sense? Sent from my SM-J700T1 using the BariatricPal App

Hair loss prevention
sxynana replied to 20mustang02's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One of the daily Vitamins my dr has me on is Biotin. Check with your dr to see how many mcg they want you to take daily. Also make sure you take in required amt of Protein. Any chemical treatment done to hair within first cple monthes after surgery will make you lose hair due to sometbing with anesthesia? (I guess-was told this by hairstylist). Also the change is diet will cause hair loss. Sent from my SM-J700T1 using the BariatricPal App -
