BariatricPal Policy Reminders – Everyone Please Read!
AMVV12 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Rants & Raves
So if we did want to delete our account, how could this be accomplished? Unsubscribing is different from deleting an account. I am having surgery next month and am disappointed that the vets are being banned. Vets are what run this forum. -
Hi Christina! Do you plan on getting the sleeve?Yes. Hopefully Feb 17th. I really wanted the band to work for me, but I had no idea how much I was going to have to do just to keep my "equipment"" functional. I feel if my stomach is sleeved, all I have to worry about is controlling what I eat and exercise. Looking forward to never wondering if my tool needs a tune up because I lost weight and am not tight anymore or having to pace twist and turn and sip pineapple juice to get a rogue piece of chicken to swallow down. AND I have insurance again so even with less Dr visits Im covered, yay! Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App Glad to hear that Keep me updated on your journey!

Wow I've never heard of someone dumping with every meal. I wonder if it is a surgical mistake?I wish I knew so I could help her What does her doctor say? I hope she's been back or gone to someone for a secon opinion. That should definitely not be happening. She has been back to her doctor multiple times & I can't say for certain what they have decided for her.

What surgery are you pick and why
AMVV12 replied to candacer's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
I chose the sleeve because it has proven to be effective with my PCOS. Also, I don't like the idea of my intestines being rerouted with gastric bypass. I have known several people with bad experience with bypass and that is not something I want to experience. I also took the recommendation of my surgeon. Best of luck to you! -

I have PCOS and I am having the sleeve done. My surgeon believes this will be the best surgery for my PCOS and liver. My girlfriend had the bypass and she cannot eat anything without dumping several times. However, when she had her surgery, the sleeve wasn't popular like it is now. Everyone's experience is different and I would listen to my surgeon. You can always get a second opinion though.

Anyone chose self pay due to impatience with ins?
AMVV12 replied to fits_like_a_sleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 100% self pay because my husbands insurance does not cover ANY bariatric services. Although we are having to take a loan out, I can book my surgery in 2 weeks! I am going to Mexico and couldn't be happier with my decision. Financially, it will be a struggle but my health will only deteriorate the longer I have to wait. Best wishes to you! -
You're welcome!

Congratulations! Wishing you a speedy recovery ????

February Sleevers -- Let's Do This Together
AMVV12 replied to good4younancy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon will be Dr. Alvarez in Mexico. He is 8900 for everything except getting you to San Antonio. He has a YouTube channel if you're interested. Wishing you well! -
I see a therapist on a weekly basis, take depression and PTSD medication and have even been to E.D. treatment and I think what worked best was to realize what was behind my food issues. I used it as a stress reliever. It was there when I was happy, sad, mad..etc. I had to learn different coping skills. Every day is a struggle but it is worth the fight. I am having surgery soon. Best wishes to you.
