I had doubts the other day and then I took a good long look at myself in the mirror after my shower. Doubt gone.

I'm looking forward to taking a real family photo where I'm not holding my kids up in front of me like little hostages, trying to hide my fat. I'm also looking forward to not being hung up on if people will like me or not because of my size.....I can't imagine what either one of those things will feel like. -

Well, I was asked by the hospital when they scheduled my endoscopy and I thought it was odd so I asked around and a coworker said they can refuse surgery if you had a new tattoo. It sounds weird to me too. I thought I'd throw it out here and see if anyone had that be an issue. I will update if I get a solid answer. Lol

I just had someone tell me that they won't do surgery if you've had a tattoo within the last 6 months. Has anyone ever heard that or know a reason why you couldn't have surgery because of a tattoo? I'm confused....

I met with the surgeon today to discuss timeline and options. He told me the lap band has been pulled from the market, which is fine because I want a sleeve. I have my scope and psych evaluation next Wednesday. (They are accommodating double appointments for me because I live over 2 hours away). I am self pay and this is happening so fast! I'm SUPER excited, EXCEPT for the 2 week pre-op liquid diet. I am TERRIFIED of that.[emoji20] I've never done anything like that and I'm afraid for the first time. Does anyone have any tips on how to get through that? Liquids that fill you up, taste good or ways to help the 2 weeks feel like it's going faster? I know it will be less of a struggle after surgery, I think I just need ideas and encouragement. Today was A LOT to take in.[emoji51] -
I have my initial consult next week. I will be self pay in Washington state. (Anyone in the same boat, please message me). I am 5' 8" 245. I have been miserable for years. I don't think I'm scared of surgery or recovery. I think I am scared of what happens if I "miss" the food or if I can't be "me" in a new (thinner) body. I want so badly to be healthy and fit, to be comfortable and confident in new skin. I'm just scared of all the change. Does that sound dumb? Does anyone know how long between initial consult and scheduled surgery for self pay? I'm SO ready, but SO worried about the "after" issues....Any help is seriously appreciated!!!
