Does appetite come back?
CrowMilk replied to Didjit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel hunger and I'm almost 2 months out. I get physically sick when my stomach has been empty for too long, so I take that as a sign that I am hungry, not when my stomach gurgles. -
How to get 64-70g of protein in?!
CrowMilk replied to Sleeved_G's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hy-Vee part-skim mozzarella cheese sticks. I mispoke, it's 6 grams for 1 oz. I am 1 month and 10 days post. -

CrowMilk replied to Sleeved_G's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So what is the advantage of a protein bar over eating, say, 2 oz of cheese? The kind I have is 16 grams of protein for 2 oz at 160 calories and no sugar or carbs. -
Honestly, I watched videos of people eating fast food on Shutterstock when I was on liquids. I didn't necessarily want that food, just wanted the sensation of chewing actual food.

I've been stalled the last 3 weeks. I finally lost 2 lbs yesterday, but they came back today. Some people say they can have 50-100 grams of carbs, but I believe I cannot have hardly any, probably less than 10 g a day.
-
Not regular as in every day, regular as in no other flavors but plain.
-
How did you manage to completely reduce sugars? I'm having a hard time. I'm not eating any sweets or chocolate, haven't since my birthday (12/15), but drinks are killing me. I've said this before, but I drink OJ and I have had regular lemonade, about 5-10 oz, diluted with a liter of water.

I haven't had any issues with negative comments. Then again I never post anything on Facebook and have all of 2 friends and am also a recluse at work. Lol.

Stopping liquid stage.
CrowMilk replied to bossportsgal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to talk to your surgeon first. Mine was okay with me slowly moving forward before the set date, but that's because the time period they choose is the same for all patients and I'm quite a bit younger than the average patient and was healing faster. Anyway, your surgeon knows best for you. -
Weight gaining after sleeve?
CrowMilk replied to XmeghannstarX's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, I've been cutting back. It was just to get fluids in until I could increase Water intake. -
Weight gaining after sleeve?
CrowMilk replied to XmeghannstarX's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have gained weight and am in week 4. I don't get it. Besides Orange Juice (around 11-20 oz some days), the only thing I digest is straight from my NUT book. Ground turkey, sour cream, and cheese has been my meals the last week. It takes all day to eat 3 oz of all of those things combined, 2 oz is turkey btw. I'm not eating sweets or anything else that is high in sugars. I'm at a complete loss! -
I find that I don't miss pizza in it's entirety, but what pizza represented to me. On days where I worked from home or on vacation I would order a large cheese, some pop, and buy a new movie to watch and just veg all day long. Those were my favorite days, so when I "miss" pizza I think I just miss those days.

Do you count the carbs in fruit? I drink a lot of fresh squeezed orange juice and am a bit confused on whether those carbs take you out of ketosis. Like @@Travelher said - fruit juice is not a good option. From a nutritional standpoint you might as well drink a coke and take a Vitamin C tablet. Once you remove the fiber that is in the orange, you are just consuming straight sugar. And this is from a guy that eats a ton of fruit everyday. But I never drink juice. I will make smoothies out of the whole fruit, as it retains the fiber. But no juice. I know. I'm cutting back as I've found a Water brand that doesn't make me nearly as nauseous.

Honestly, I switched to gummies for this reason. I know that's not what some doctors recommend, but my surgeon said it was okay.

I don't suggest drinking juice, no finer and pretty much just sugar. If you want fruit you are better off with the real thing. Berries are generally lower carb than other fruits.I know, it's just the only way I get fluids in for the most part.

Too few calories=stall?
CrowMilk replied to Journey4myhealth's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I heard that your body needs at least 800 calories or it goes into "starvation mode" where you'll get a stall. -
Darn, this depresses me. Water has made me nauseous and about the only liquid I can stand is OJ. I'll have to find something else!

I agree with others, you are dumping. I avoid sugar entirely. The only substantial sugar I consume is from blueberries and I limit those to 1/2 cup per serving. You can also dump from eating or drinking too fast, so watch that as well. (I'm assuming you had rny) What about OJ? It's the only thing I can drink and keep down at the moment. Water makes me nauseous, though I am still drinking it.

Yes, I was very light headed leading up to my surgery. I went from eating 2,000+ calories a day to essentially under 800, and all liquid in 1 day. It's hard to get used to, and in fact you will still probably feel light headed after surgery as well. Your body will eventually get used to it.

Delicious high protein meal and some football!
CrowMilk replied to paul12677's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I did something similar but with turkey taco meat. It's delicious and easy to eat! -
2 (TWO) periods in 1 month?!?
CrowMilk replied to haylee_d's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had VSG on 12/21 and got my period on 12/26.... And it has not stopped yet. Still going, full force. Like another user said, hormones are stored in your fat and as you burn through the fat those hormones are released. For me that's a crazy long period and horrible acne. Goood luck! -
I had heated deli meat with cheese and mayo, yogurt, chicken with ranch, ground turkey as taco meat with cheese and sour cream, and some steamed veggies. I'm having a hard time getting fluids in so despite the high sugar amount and carbs I've been drinking orange juice. I feel so much better since drinking it too.

I had the sleeve done on 12/21 and went back to work yesterday. I only managed 3 hours before needing to leave as I was extremely nauseous. It seems everything makes me want to vomit-drinking water, eating, or moving at all. This has been happening the last couple of days and I'm not sure if it's normal. I had 1 meal yesterday and barely 30 oz of fluids.

Pureed food stage
CrowMilk replied to HeidiSue2009's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounded nauseating to me. I didn't think the texture would be good at all, however I was wrong. I had thick sliced smoked turkey blended with some homemade ranch and bbq sauce. It turned out to be a soft playdoh-like consistency and tasted good.
