    Discomfort After Surgery

I am one week post op and I haven't thrown up once. I have definitely felt nauseated and queasy but not to the point of vomiting. The antinausia medication helps a lot. But like you I HATE vomiting and will go to great lengths to avoid it. I think if you take it slow with your liquids you will be just fine. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
  2. I just had my surgery on Friday. I think your packing bag depends a lot on what your hospital supplies. My hospital had everything! I really only needed a phone charger, hair tie and a outfit to wear home (yoga pants, underwear and soft loose t-shirt). I also wore a sports bra home but that is personal preference. I was fine wearing the hospital gowns and gripy socks they provided. I didn't wear makeup. They gave me a disposable toothbrush and soap. I also didn't need entrainment basically because the meds made me high as a kite and I napped a lot. LOL! My doctor does not recommend gas x or abdominal binders. So I have avoided those. 3. Don't forget why you are doing the pre-op diet. It's to make the surgery SAFER! Is cheating on the pre-op diet worth increasing your risks during surgery? I am finishing up my Liver Shrinking Diet in preparation for surgery on Friday. This is the one that is closest I could find on the internet to what my doctor prescribed: http://advancedsurgicalpartnersofva.com/util/forms/liver-reduction-diet.pdf

    Feeling good

BCBS publishes their guidelines online. You can look it up. For me, my BMI had to be above 40 or 35 with co-morbidities. I also had to do 6 months of weight loss with my doctor. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

    Pre-op diet

My doctor put me on the Liver Shrinking Diet two weeks before surgery. I'm sure that could work for you. Just make sure you are going to be able to stick to it the last two weeks. You don't want to have your will power fading just when you need it most. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
