I am allowed to mix with milk. I am hoping this helps with the taste. If it is too nasty, I will stick to the powder I am on now.

I am getting banded on Friday! I am not staying overnight either. I have to be there are 5:30am for surgery at 6:30 and I should be home by 1pm. :tongue2:

I have to get this stuff tomorrow! I have to be on it for about three weeks. Looks like I will not be enjoying it. I was wondering which flavor to get, but now I am sure I will get the chocolate mint. Are you mixing it with milk or water?

At my preop appointment yesterday, I was told to start my preop diet. I was supposed to go and get the bariatric advantage shakes as well, but the place was closed until Monday. So i just picked up some whey protein powder at the grocery store and will have to wait until Monday to get the bariatric Advantage. how are they tasting?

I told everyone as well. I work with a handful of people and knew I would need their support. Everyone has been super cool about it and asking what they can do to help. I have to take two weeks off per my surgeon's orders, so my boss is even going to set me up to work from home since I am hourly and cannot really afford to miss two weeks. I didn't want to feel like I was hiding anything. i am proud of my decision and I would tell Oprah too. lol

there was some confusion cause I called his office and got a call back from his receptionist and she told me that Dr. Hamamji's office has nothing to do with my preop, that I have to call Cosmeticare, where I am having the surgery. I was like, No I dont think so. Thats when I emailed my nutritionist and told her what I was told and a day later my surgeon emails me from vacation. I am so relieved.

UPDATE - I got an email from my surgeon today. he is on vacation and thats why I couldnt get a hold of him at his office. He says I DO NOT NEED the pre op diet! This is fantastic. thanks for the support everyone!

My name is Tara and I live in Orange County, CA. I have been going back and forth between doctors and getting my clearance for the lap band since June! And I finally got my surgery date!!! January 16th!! What a way to start the new year! I am incredibly excited, although the liquid diet is scaring the crap out of me. My surgeon is Dr. Sami Hamamji. I weigh about 265 pounds right now and hope to get down to about 150. Oh, and I am 27. =)

Thank you for your replies. I am going to talk to him this week when i stop in his offices to pick up the Protein shakes. Maybe he will be able to better lay out what I can have during the pre op diet. but if all I can have are the shakes and Water, then that is all I will have. I certainly do NOT want to be denied the surgery due to my liver being too fatty. I can only imagine how it looks right now. I do work, Mon - Fri 10am to 4pm. I work with a bunch of guys all younger than me. My boss is 23 and everyone is really supportive of what I am doing so that will help. I live with my boyfriend and he said that he will do the fist few days with me till i get used to it. he cant do anymore than that cause he is too skinny as it is. thanks again everyone, I just needed the reassurance that i can do it and that I will get through it.

I have my pro op appointment on the 9th. I havent been told my my surgeon or my nutritionist what I can and cannot have on the pro op diet. Surgery is on the 16th of Jan so i am hoping to hear back from them soon cause I am clueless.

I don;t have a specific date yet, but considering I went to the cardiologist today for my initial exam for my medical clearance and scheduled my stress test for the 19th of this month, I am pretty sure my surgery will now be in the beginning to mid July. WooHoo!!

OH! I actualy LOVE chocolate slim fast shakes! I wouldn't mind being put on those at all. (of course, I can say that now...lol) Actually, Dr. Niccole of CosmetiCare in Newport Beach is my father's plastic surgeon. My father is paying for the surgery for me. It was actually his idea. I guess Dr. Irani is going to be working with CosmetiCare as well now. I am very lucky.

Yay! Another OC LapBander! How long do you have top drink shakes for? I am so worried about the liquid diet part. I love my food (and thats prob why I am getting lapband in the first place...lol)
