Fent:wink:n............. so glad you are back! We all missed you way too much........ I think we all have crushes on you!

Congrats - your journey is just beginning.....ricotta - for now just put some good marinara on top of a layer of ricotta and microwave to heat and it is yummy.... later on when you add in meat you can put some frozen soy crumbles (in the freezer section by the vegetarian burgers etc) under the cheese and you have a great fake protein rich lasagna. This is a comfort food and you will love it. And I think Suzanne Somers or South Beach make some kind of dessert with ricotta.... I 'll have to explore that. Well take it slow with adding in the real food and keep the proteins #1. We'll be cheering you on! Sue PS - I love ricotta  - cottage cheese is :cursing: YUK

I am now down 45.5 pounds and I feel great - more energy, some old favorite jeans are now getting too big....how awesome too big for me....I love tossing too big clothes into my bag for goodwill. I hope you all feel as happy as I do!

Special K - my heart and prayers go out to you and your family at this sad time. Try to rest because you do not want to get sick. I finally got on the scale again and I am down 45.5 pounds since my surgery. I am working hard at making better choices - I have had 3 fills and sometimes I can still eat a lot if I didn't control myself but I have also had 3 PB eisodes and they were horrible and all 3 x's I was too hungry and ate to fast - 2 of the times with chicken (my favorite food) and 1 x a burger but no bun. It hit me right away and it was a relief to PB is all up. The weather is finally taken a turn to sun and summer here in MA and I am trying to enjoy it while thinking of getting ready for winter - I need to do some extra caulking & insulating and I am thinking of putting in new energy star windows. My oil budget is prohibitive - $377/month - gee with mortgage & car etc that is a scary amt. The window say a 40% decrease in amt of oil usage. SO what I really need is a roommate because I have 2 rooms I could rent out - anyone have experience with renting out rooms ..... give me any hints and tips. I hope everyone is still losing....... fast or slow it desn't matter as long as we are losing. I feel like a new woman.... or like the younger thinner woman I once was - It feels good to have clothes fit me without sausaging myself in. Have a great week......... wish I was going to Paris with Fenton ... that is one of my got to go to places.........

Thanks - I have remained very close to my ex's family - so good luck with your work - and lets talk soon!

So I live on Lake Thompson which is a very small lake in Palmer MA - right off the turnpike - actually I have cousins in Westfield so I am up there occasionally and at 65 mph on the pike it is very easy to get to! As to the Wii Fit - I actually had signed up at amazon.com to get it as soon as it was available. I got my Wii summer of 2007 when I saw it in Walmart (they had just put them out) by luck - my friends are still having trouble getting the Wii itself - they seem to sell out instantly. I really love it... and so do my grandchildren who have every other game system in the world it seems!

Hi everybody - it's been awhile since I have been on - I hope everyone is still losing......... imagine that our goal is to be losers........ I have been on a slow and steady weight loss even though I really still do not feel restricted but feel like I am finally making better choices and I even lost weight after going to my nephews wedding weekend and then on a mini 7 day vacation to Maine. Or the wilds of ME - only saw one moose though. As to eating I have my little goodies if I really want something, in fact my sister-in-law and niece and I shared a whoppie pie cake slice up in Lincoln ME and we actually all only had a few bites and left cake on the plate and it was yummy....... and I have a new appreciation for sugar free ice cream. Fenton/Jonathan - your book was awesome - I added it to my facebook as a favorite. I had the shivers more than once in the reading .... you really brought it to life - I cannot wait till your next book is out! So when will that be! I went kayaking up in ME on Pleasant Lake - it was awesome and I was so happy that I was under the kayaks weight limit - imagine getting stuck or worse sinking -it was easy getting in and paddling around but getting out of the kayak was another story - its the age - the body is not as agile. I was thinking of getting one for home (I live on a small lake in Western Ma but my goal is to sell and move to a 55+ condo so I can use my $ to travel and buy my electronic toys LOL and because it is too much to take care of this big house and it needs some work and the OIL is scary these days - of course if I met the man of my dreams I could change my mind about moving HA HA). OH just a side note - we daytripped up to Campobello NB Canada to see FDR's summer home - awesome - now that is the way to grow up - in a mansion on the ocean! Well just checking in to let you all know that being lapbanded was one of the best things I have ever done for myself! I am sure you all feel the same. Oh I still love my Wii Fit! I

I have not been checking in with and on all of you lately - tried to read back a few pages - it seems that we are all losing weight - thank God Diva is allright and boy there is always so many things going on - here tonight the scanner has the police trying to get 2 cows out of the road and find their owner... ahh living in the country - the parents and auntie always needing to go/be somewhere (all in their 80's) - they are all thrilled I have a long weekend coming up AHHHH - life - but I am lucky to still have them. anyhoo - Fenton/Jonathan I got your book - hope to start reading it this weekend. I ordered it Amazon.com because my visits to the local Borders and B&N did not have it and it cost me a few $$$$ just stopping in those stores. I have no self restraint (sounds like my old eating habits). My Wii fit board arrived today and it is all set up and it is a scale too and it calculated my BMI and it gave me a Wii fit age of 65 - darn but I am only 56...... so I have my work cut out for me. I did do some balance exercises for 20 minutes - a step version of DDR and some hula hooping - it was fun and I was sweating. I was going to try a little yoga but I had to sit and pay my bills and check in with you all and I now have to get ready for the season finale of Greys Anatomy. Bye - have a great weekend!

Everyone post your fill dates and progress here!

I had my first fill today - I didn't feel a thing - it was over in seconds. Dr Haag gave me 3cc in my AP-L band and told me that I should know within a week if I have restriction and that I can come back right away if I am still feeling starved. I feel fine tonight - but I am only on liquids today - tommorow he told me to have some mushies and see how it goes. He was very happy with my weight loss up to now. What an adventure this is and it sure is fun to share it with all of you! -
That body bugg sounds like a great tool. I ordered my new cool tool as soon as it was available for preorder. I ordered the Wii fit board and software for my favorite toy, my Wii. It will be out end of May and it will be shipped to me then. Luckily enough I had a lot of Amazon gift certificates (from my super great bro and work) so it cost me no out of the pocket $$$. I'll have to let you all know how it works when it comes. This is a great site for all us shrinking shamrocks to share our stories.

Great idea. I am so happy with my weight loss so far and with how I feel. I feel like a new person allready. I have more energy and I can tie my shoes without losing my breath. This is one of the best things that I have ever done for ME.

I was banded by Dr Haag on 3-21-208. It was a great experience - I do not even remember leaving the room where they prepped me for surgery. At PVSA I think they have a very busy office and they do the best they can. I also know Dr Fiallo and think he is a very nice guy..... I feel bad that his bedside manner is not quite what you wanted. Dr Haag seems very shy actually. His jokes are quite funny. I just made my appointment for my first fill and I needed the latest in the day so I would not have to leave work and the office had no problem granting that request. I am happy overall with my care and the office and with my progress so far. I agreee that this website has a wealth of info on it - the kind of info you can only get from your peers who are or have experienced the same thing. We are lucky to have this site.

It is so great to see that everyone is doing so well. Today I am 3 weeks post op and feeling great. I am mushing it pretty well - its a trip getting my lunch and Snacks ready to take to work every day and trying to keep a bit of variety so I don't get bored. I have not yet been really hungry so I am happy with my couple ounces of Protein and some pureed veggie. I am happy with the weight I have lost so far. I certainly do not expect it to come off overnight since it did not appear overnight. My coworkers are all so supportive of me. They even compliment my lunch choices. My only complaint is still being more tired than normal - I am hoping that if spring ever comes and brings some sunshine I will perk up. Of course my days off are usually dark dreary and rainy and I am at work when the sun shines. I need some beach time........ I have a couple of challenges coming up - a retirement party and a wedding shower - it will be interesting to see how I handle those - it will be different not having a cocktail and eating everything is site. I hope I make good choices. My post op check up is for May 5th and I will have my first fill that day. Everyone- have a great weekend!
