    Praying for good results

Just finishing praying for you, wish you the best HW 343 SW 334 CW 315
  2. Hi Taylor and Welcome, Charles from Dallas. I'm not dealing with any emotional feelings right now post surgery. I had the sleeve last Tuesday 25th. It has been a struggle to get all my fluids in. I'm also ready to move on to the soft foods, but I've come to embrace this challenge because I can already see the outcome. When it comes to fluids. There's some days I get close to 50oz and some days barely 30oz. I just make sure to have a bottle next to me all the time. Even when I wake up in the middle of the night, I sip. I do it all day. Have you done much walking? I walk twice a day about a mile each time. This is a good site for support and answers. I wish you the best and know that you will succeed. Questions from a younger bigger man

I belive in the fact that you are younger then your a better candidate. The higher weight would be more concerning, but that's were the pre op comes in. I believe if you truly follow your surgeon and nutrionist advice you will be successful. I am 46, Male, started at 344 before pre op, surgery weight 334 on April 25, today 318-315, it's hard to tell with a cheap scale. When I met my surgeon and nutrionist 6 mos ago, I started taking multi vitamins, started being more conscious about how fast I eat and drink, basically trying to prepare myself. Just educate yourself ask alot of questions and you will be fine. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

  8. You should also try making your own. I made some the other day with Essentia Water and Crystal Light Mango Passion Fruit. So basically you get a high ph count liquid with zero carbs and sugar. It taste great. I do it just to keep the liquid diet interesting. With the popsicle mold you can make multiple flavors that suites you. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pre-surgery diet

I was told using a straw increases the gas in your stomach. I don't use a straw. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pre-surgery diet

That sounds good, 2 shakes then a sensible dinner. I would start taking multi vitamins now if you aren't already. Also start practicing sipping and chewing slowly, that's will make a big difference afterwards. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Secret Sleever

I didn't tell any co-workers. I started my liquid diet early and told a few I was doing it because I was having minor surgery. Now I'm just going to tell them I decided to stick with the liquid diet partially because I actually feel alot better. Whether they believe me or not, who cares. Either way, most people come to their own conclusion to fit the response the want to hear. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Summer bbq and parties

My family has a beach family gather every summer in Clearwater FL. I've already told them, Salmon and Chicken Breasts for me please, nothing else. Stick with what's right for you. I've told everyone I've given up drinking because of health reason, which in a sense is partially true. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Try the Nectar Protien Powder. It's consider a clear liquid, but does provide a good amount of Protein. Comes in many flavors. I have the lemonade and it's not as thick as a regular protein shake, and you only need 8oz to get a good mixure. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Apprehensive

You will be fine. I had my surgery on Tuesday. No issues, just getting enough fluids can be a challenge. There's nothing to be worried about. On my surgery date, there were 10 of us total. Yes 10. It's not a long procedure and we had 2 surgeons. One doing the sleeve and the other completed the hernia, if needed. In my group there were at least 4 people over 60 years of age, 3 females and one male. We all hung out on the hospital floor walking and talking about our experience. Hang in there, think about your new lifestyle after you successful surgery. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Where i go from here

Stick with your surgeons plan Its not just for dieting but more importantly your safety. I know how you feel. I'm only 3 days post op and I'm looking forward to some bake fish, oatmeal, etc. But I'm also embracing the challenge because I know what the great outcome will be. Anyone from Texas?

No drain, no catheters, or that drink test I hear people talking about. Now I'm assuming that's just him and not based on the individual patient. Just some FYI. The EGD was performed by Dr Wright, who is pretty cool. My nurse practitioner name was Burrell, also really good. I was amazed at how many nurses, and technicians who had the surgery. So the majority of people looking out for you actually experienced what you will be going thru. Today early Friday morning, I'm up, not in pain or nausea. I walked a mile yesterday so I slept pretty good. Keep on with the questions. Not a problem. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    4 day post op

I'm 2 Days post op. I'm using 12oz bottles. I try to sip all day, even if I wake up at 2am I take a sip. I'm getting close to 50oz, but I tell you it's hard to hold that much liquid so I'm using the restroom all day.
