It's my time now! Dec, 2016
I've thought of surgery many times over the course of my 40 plus years of overweight life. Even my doctors have mentioned it more than once during various checkups. Now just over 3 months shy of my 50th birthday I have decided, "it's time, it's my time now". 
Let start from the beginning. Unlike most people, I remember when and what caused my start to being overweight. I was 5 years old, and broke my leg at kindergarten while playing on a jungle gym with my friends. Up until then I was of regular weight and activity. Being from an Italian family had its perks, and its downfalls. Sometimes they are one in the same, as in my case. I was understandably immobile with a large cast on my leg. I had snapped my leg bone in two places, both of which came through the skin. So for many weeks I was feed, and feed, and feed many rich Italian entries and deserts. That's all it took.
Now 44 years later, I have made the choice to have Bariatric Surgery. For the record I do not consider myself a failure for making this choice. I truly feel that I need to be "reset". Reset back to when I was 5. To a time when food did not control me. It's time that I control the food, but I will need the help of the surgical process to fulfill this. And so I begin my journey.
