Call your surgeon's office during hours. Don't waste time and money going to someone who doesn't deal with this type of surgery.
-
You can also try buying Ph water. It won't have the same metallic taste.
-
Stick to liquids until you're cleared. It will go by quickly. You're weak because you had major surgery last week. Allow yourself time to heal. It gets better every day.
-
Best of luck to the 15th group! I hope you sail through surgery. I'm 7 weeks out now and have had zero issues. I'm down 40 lbs. which is hard for me to even believe. I have been pretty open about telling folks but I kind of regret that.
-
No Regrets! Why on earth would you want to reverse it? If you could have lost weight another way, you would have done it. I don't know what's going on with this board tonight but complications during surgery are rare and complications 'years' after are rarer than that.

Am I on the Right Track?
AZLoser replied to jgonzalezpolanco's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations on taking charge of you! It took me about 2 years back and forth to make my decision and now I wonder why I hesitated. I'm 6 weeks post now and feel great. I know you will too. Keep us posted on your journey and, of course, the wedding. Good luck to you! -
Half way point. 151lbs down in 133 days.

Great job and thanks for sharing! You can be an inspiration to the rest of us. I'm 6 weeks post and already getting bored but I need to stay on track because I have a Looongg way to go. -
In our program they said it's because your stomach is now finally empty between meals so it seems like the digestion is louder. They said it's totally normal. If you're using a straw to drink that makes it worse because you're taking in air too. Good luck. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Energy level after surgery?
AZLoser replied to misschrissylynn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Major surgery so you will be tired. I went back to work day 6 but wish I'd taken more time. I work from home so it was easier for me. I never had much pain but I was tired the first three weeks. Make sure to keep up your Water, that will help. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
The liquids are meant to go down easily so you won't feel the restriction right away. Also your stomach is still swollen from surgery. I didn't really feel mine until week 4. I ate 3 oz of chicken and was stuffed like I just at ate Thanksgiving dinner. Now I struggle to get in 500 calories a day. I'm 6 weeks out and down 35 lbs. Just stay on plan and you'll do great. Drinking Seltzer during the pre-op diet.
AZLoser replied to FamilyGuyNJ's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Agree with berry. I love my fizz and it was hard to give up. Do it before so you don't have to add another thing to give up right when you have surgery. You will have enough to wrestle with. Drinking fizz after can be dangerous. Definitely give up the week before. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
Congrats! To get thru the pre op phase and even 2 weeks post, just suck it up and know it gets better. We all got tired of it and you will too so just acknowledge it and focus on the big picture - you. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Two Years Out, Can't Lose...HELP!
AZLoser replied to Momcat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
To lose from where you are go back to low low carb. 100 grams is maintenance /gain for most people, especially women over 50 (myself included). Stay under 30 for a couple of weeks and as you get closer to goal increase by 10 grams a week until you find your maintenance level. Mine is around 60 which is still reasonable. Remember to count every morsel that you intake; condiments, etc. And don't use net carbs or you could be taking in more than you think. That's the manufacturer way of getting you to think those extra carbs don't matter. They do. Good luck - you've got this. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
I'm one of the few who doesn't like myfitnesspal. Spark people is easier and I really like myfoodjournal. It's the cleanest. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Advancing your diet- on your own
AZLoser replied to TheRevisionedVagabond's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Stuck to my plan. Lots of horror stories out there about folks who advance ahead of schedule so you're not the only one who's been tempted. Let's face it, it sucks until you eat real food. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
How fast can you return to work ?
AZLoser replied to Natí Beesh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went back at 1 week. I work from home, desk job, and made sure I had no travel scheduled. It was fine but I got tired by the afternoon. By two weeks I felt less tired. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

Try Unjury. It's pretty undetectable in most things. -
When can i pick up my kids again?
AZLoser replied to bart1904's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My program says no lifting more than 15 lbs for four was. And nothing that engages your core muscles. You may have small incisions but you have a big wound inside. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
You'll do great! I was sleeved 12/28 and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Congrats! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

What do you eat? In semi solid phase?
AZLoser replied to midia's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My saving is sashimi. Soft luscious and high in Protein. But not everyone likes that. Minestrone with soft veggies. Deviled eggs. Mix the yolks with lox or hummus if you get bored. Ricotta cheese stuffed zucchini baked in tomato sauce. Cauliflower puréed like mashed potatoes. Refried Beans with a sprinkle of cheddar. My surgeon said no beef or pork the first two months. He's one of the best. Be careful about over experimenting before your stomach is healed. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
That's sad if the posts were removed. This should be open sharing, not a sales site. I hope you stick around to share your success. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Thanks for posting your success. Way to go and stick with the plan! Good inspiration. I'm in month 1 and I hope to hit my goal within a year also. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I totally know how you feel but hang in there - you've come this far. You'll get to continue on all your favorite liquids for a while after surgery too - yum. But it gets better. Eventually you'll be able to eat whatever you want. This is just temporary. No pain, no loss.
-
Thanks for sharing your story and congrats on making a good decision to take care of yourself. I am only a couple of days ahead of you and I totally get what you're feeling. This will be our year!

The six months of prep is only an insurance requirement. You shouldn't have to do that if you're self pay. I thought the six months was frustrating. I just had my sleeve done at Honor Health, Scottsdale. I had insurance but they do take self pays also. They will give you all the rates if you call. But lots of options in AZ. I have friends who had it done at Tru Results with self pay and financing.
