Post op Day 3 I've been doing well. The gas is mostly gone. Just a painful spot when I move a certain or cough that I'm assuming is gas, intensity fluctuates but very mild. I'm able to drink 10ml at a time without pain, if I don't drink too many sips at a time. I technically advanced my diet early today. I couldn't stand anything else fruity and the broth/protein isn't agreeing with me. So in puréed costco broccoli cheddar Soup. Had about 1/4 cup split 2X. It was so satisfying to have a new flavor after 2weeks (including the preop). I've been continuously active and got in a lot more liquid today However, I realized I have to kick my Starbucks habit. Too expensive to not be able to enjoy the full cup, but i did order a mug warmer tonight Said all of that to report that it does get better each day! Sent from my iPhone

    African American vsgers!

Yes. It is realistic. My surgeon is top Bariatric guy in Dallas and he told my goal should be 170 from the very first appointment. I started at 320. I'm already down 20lbs only 3 days post op (week of liquid diet before). Before that I lost 100lbs on my own, just cutting sugar and carbs. So yes. Realistic. We aren't going to go through all of this to play it smalll. ????‍♀️ Sent from my iPhone

    Asking God for direction

I felt very much the same way. I was totally made up in my mind to have to surgery so that's how I took it God in prayer. I wanted it, was scared, nervous and willing to be obedient. I knew I had prayed for so any other things and this surgery was an answer to those prayers. But you know what's going on with you. The feeling of dying on the table is normal and being scared that you will be punished by death is also normal. Like other said. Listen for the holy spirit to guide you and go with it. Nothing makes response more clear than a little fasting and praying. Sent from my iPhone

    Getting Sleeved with a baby...

I have an 11 month old and not BF (sleeve 12/29) ands hard enough to deal as it is. If you want to get the surgery as planned I'd advise you to wean now. Like right now. Not likely to continue production anyway. Plus that baby will want you and you will only want comfy pillows. Believe me. Not to mention the emotional and mental drain post op (pre too) will be. Good luck Sent from my iPhone

    My immediate post-op experience

I was in the same boat upon wake up but my pain quickly subsided. I was so dry and gas-y I started to panic. Full out anxiety attack. Big dose of Deloidem(?) and I've been fine since. I did crush and take some lexapro to keep it cool Sent from my iPhone
  15. I've been on short store trips too. Just have meds like gas x and anti nausea plus liquids. Walking is good for you. Warning: I drove really far to take my mom home and realized I was a lot drowsier than I thought. Sent from my iPhone

The surgery process isn't that bad. I had my tubes tied as a little test run. You fall asleep so fast and just wake up when they're done. The only issue with this surgery is that I felt rushed! My Dr had 12 that day and other Dr at surgical hospital as well. A good nurse will go a long way. Good luck ???? Sent from my iPhone

    Sips. Sips. Sips.

I used a medicine cup to measure out 15mL of Water to get the "feel" for sips. It was tedious, but I wanted to learn because, same as you, I just really don't wanna mess this up. After decades of never sipping, it'll take some time. Is 15ml at a time not too much? I was drinking from med cups in hospital and nurse said each cup take me a few sips. Or is that accelerated after a day or two? I'd love to swallow 15ml since my liquids Percocet is so nasty!???? Sent from my iPhone

    Nauseous

My doctor gave me spark by advocare to give me energy. I am 2 days post and I've only had about 12 oz today. I'd like to drink more but I get gas pains (?) when I drink too much too fast. Do you not have RX for anti nausea meds? They help me keep moving around. Moving around is probably why I'm not getting enough in Sent from my iPhone

What is your post op diet like and how much are you walking? I'm pretty much pacing all the time (now) cause I'm not comfortable enough to go outside for power walks. Sent from my iPhone

Honestly the questions won't become too important until you've had the surgery...if that makes sense. Dr will be giving info so Just ask to have everything explained in detail. Sent from my iPhone

@@Suaniya I didn't want to go through weight loss program that insurance required so I had surgeon "check" for hiatal hernia. (EGD) Of course I had a "small one" so the insurance covered it without a wait. Sent from my iPhone
  22. @@sasharbinx you were sleeved 12/29? Me too. I had pain when I first woke up but only other pain I've had since has been gas. The gas x strips and walking around the house has helped. Also try getting someone to massage your back and/or knead on your belly. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. Hey @@linziyo we were sleeved on the same day! How's it going for you? I've been experiencing very little pain when not on meds. I'm taking them to be comfortable when I cough. Also yet to feel hungry. I hope all went well for you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
