Did you tell people?
PatientEleventyBillion replied to Bishbosh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd totally answer that question. I notice private people are rather put off by my shamelessness. -
YEAH SO.......,
PatientEleventyBillion replied to Seahawks Fan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, LOL. The Bears and Browns have mediocre ownership and upper management. Nothing the GMs, coaches, and players can do. Success starts from the top. -
If any of you could have had the sleeve done in your 20's would you?
PatientEleventyBillion replied to rachel_babe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My weight for much of my adult life has been all over the place. I was 180 or less until I graduated HS. Then I went up to 240, then lost 60 pounds in 3-4 months back to 180.. then some years later depression hit and I shot up to 361 in a span of 5 years. If I knew everything then that I do now, I would undoubtedly have had the surgery. Having been through what I have, it's given me more appreciation for the benefits of it. -
Gas or acid?
PatientEleventyBillion replied to NewChiGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There's all kinds of weird/painful feelings right out of surgery. Just stick to the diet plan, take painkillers if necessary, walk around as often as you can (for gas), and you should be fine. -
Excessive Saliva???
PatientEleventyBillion replied to TeahTeah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can have both. I've had recurring sinus issues, producing excessive mucus, drains down to my throat, causes extremely dry mouth and throat (due to having to mouth-breathe) and drinking tons of water makes no difference it still winds up dry. Has happened in total for like one week but spread out enough to be an annoyance. -
When to worry about carbs?
PatientEleventyBillion replied to SouthJerseySleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're a lot more limited on foods but should still be trying to minimize carbs. Just be a little more flexible because it's more important right now to ensure you're getting nutrients and sufficient fluids so you don't wind up in the ER. -

Raiders have a young team, all those years of tanking finally produced a decent team of young talent. Just hope the Niners can figure it out. The current QB roster is not gonna go anywhere whatsoever. -
Liquid Diet
PatientEleventyBillion replied to Shellyp's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your liver doesn't shrink because you didn't follow their pre-op diet they won't do the surgery. Is that motivation? -
How do you view overweight people now that your thin?
PatientEleventyBillion replied to doxaholic's topic in The Lounge
I'd say it's personality far more than weight. For some people (raises hand) they're miserable when fat. They don't radiate their normal confidence that attracts people. On the other hand, one of the nurses in my bariatric clinic who does my diagnostics before I see the surgeon or my internist is one of the biggest ladies ever, but moreover, nicest ladies ever and I give her a huge hug every time I see her. Someone who is happy in life will attract people far more than someone glum or despondent. Our body language tells all. -

After all those years of 49ers success and seeing the Pats always at the bottom, and the post-Largent Seahawks, they were overdue to finally turn things around.. just needed the right management and team. 49ers have been in that situation where they had things in place (Harbaugh) and threw them away. In the case of Kaepernick I'm glad he's gone, but I hope the team doesn't have a fluke season of being good.. it's obvious we need a quarterback, and have since letting Alex Smith go. What I don't understand is Lynch.. retires, unretires, Raiders? Wat? -

What is your favorite way to stay active on the rainy days?
PatientEleventyBillion replied to jesssa_belle's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I gotta say dude you look awesome. Keep up the good work. In regards to blading, even when I was a normal weight and in my teens I was always very hard on my blades. I tore them up rather quickly, but I was the same way to every pair of shoes I owned. Work hard play hard. Since I now live in a winter city, ice skating is something I can't avoid. -
How much you can eat ?
PatientEleventyBillion replied to slothritis's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can only eat 3 nuggets before I'm full.. if I even eat one more nugget, my restriction will annoy the ever living crap out of me and make me regret eating any more. Can barely manage 1/3 cup of beans, or the same thing happens. Sometimes its hard putting out the effort for so little food. I have to force myself to want to eat. At the same time I love it because I don't feel like an overeating fat slob. -

Being from the Bay Area and Central/Northern California I'm naturally a 49ers fan. Nothing to be proud of lately, but positive changes have been happening this offseason. In Alberta the two teams' jerseys I see a lot are Seahawks and Broncos. I make sure to give them as hard a time as I can.. with love of course. Some of the best convos I ever had started off at the mall or at grocery stores with me spotting Seahawks jerseys and booing them. Canadians are funny. -
Personally I didn't bother with these. I didn't want to have anything that even resembled some of the stuff I used to eat, lest it aid me in falling back into bad habits.

Pre op diet issues
PatientEleventyBillion replied to Charlie75's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Low cals, low carbs.. it will be like this for a while until you can get enough protein. That's been my post-op life thus far. -

Liver Disease
PatientEleventyBillion replied to Dimples58's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
A lot of people have liver disease (especially obese people) and few even know because most stages show no symptoms. The pre-op diet is to leave nothing in question with the liver shrinking and being a non nuisance during surgery. Liver disease is a comorbidity that adds to the justification of having WLS done. The livers of the vast majority of people who have WLS improve provided they follow the lifestyle changes required. There are a very few people who have worsening liver problems but they're special circumstances. I have stage 3 fibrosis and it's improved with the surgery.. to what degree I'll find out from my hepatologist. -
