  1. I'm 4 days post op, getting the occasional hunger pains, I'm still on a liquid diet for a few days then I can go to purée. Did anyone eat sugar free vanilla ice cream during the liquid stage? I know we can do sugar free popsicles but I didn't know if a small scoop of sugar free ice cream would be okay. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Hi everyone. Here's a bit of my background Lapband done April 2011 Only lost 40 lbs Went in for revision to sleep Nov 5, 2016 And they were only able to take my band out Since it had slipped I needed time to recover. Friday is my surgery, and I decided to go bypass instead of sleeve. I'm very nervous, about dumping and feeling like I'm starving. Plus I'm a very thirsty person and I can chug a bottle of Water lol, so the sipping is going to be a huge adjustment. Anyone else having surgery in January, what day? And what surgery you getting? I'd love to have some fellow BariatricPal friends to embark on this new journey with! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Ice Cream Post Op

Protein shakes make me gag right now, I have to force them down, so I can't imagine just sucking on them with that taste lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    January Surgeries

Congrats! And best of luck to you on your surgery tomorrow. I ended up going with the sleeve instead of the bypass. I had weighed the pros and cons with my physician and I am overall very healthy with no other complications that he thought the sleeve would be best so that's what I went with. I'm 4 days post op and doing great, don't even need the pain meds they sent me home with and yesterday I got in about 60oz of fluids. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Ice Cream Post Op

I literally took one bite, i let it completely melt in my mouth and then swallowed it, it went down fine, no pain after and it tasted normal. I was okay with the one bite, and then I figured I'll just stick to surgery free popsicles since those are on my list provided by my physician. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Ice Cream Post Op

I was given omeprazole for acid. Could that be what's causing it? I could hear my stomach growling at times though lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Ice Cream Post Op

Thanks! I'm definitely fine on the liquid diet, just sometimes the hunger pains hurt so I'm trying to constantly keep fluids going since I'm only on a liquid diet right now. Umm bacon at 2 days, that hurts me to just think about it lol. I know sugar free popsicles are okay, can try be frozen or just sip the liquid? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Ice Cream Post Op

I only asked cause I'm on a liquid diet still right now, ice creams never been an addiction or something I needed. I'm just having some hunger pains and I'm drinking my Protein accordingly and got in about 48oz of Water today and then another 15 oz of juice but still I have random hunger pains and I was craving something cold. I'm not a fan of ice chips, so I was wondering if I could suck on a few little bites of plain vanilla sugar free ice cream. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
