I too had to do six months with my primary doctor. It was for insurance requirements. She also had to write a letter of medical necessity and had helped other patients before. So that helped, but Lord I didn't think the six months would ever end lol. Now I'm a month from surgery and three months from starting this all a year ago. So it will go by quick! My insurance required a psych evaluation. I felt kinda stupid because I had already been going to a psychiatrist as well as a weekly therapist. I have major depression and had been seeing them for almost a year. I thought they'd take their opinions into account but they did not. So I had and passed the eval but the lady that did it wanted to continue to see me. So I've been seeing her monthly for about three months. I do feel it's a bit of a waste of time but she's also a sleever so she can give me more insight into the process. I'll still have to see her after my surgery for a while too. Not sure why as my depression is doing much better. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm on Medicaid in Illinois and had to do 6 months of doctor visits to monitor weight. After that and some tests they submitted and I got it approved. I had heard it could take a few tries but it went through for me. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Dr. Rowitz is going to be doing my Sleeve February 8th. I really like him. That said I feel like their program at Carle has sort of left me to do everything on my own. I had hoped for something with more structure or at least some meetings throughout the past near year long journey. My niece is having hers done at Deaconess in Evansville IN and it offers so much more for their patients. Wish Carle did. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
