  1. Good question! That was how I had to get approved for fills. Take pictures of my meals for 3 days with meal tracker. I much prefer the My Fitness Pal app to be honest.
  2. My surgeon didn't recommend anything other than taking pictures of my meals. I haven't had the best experience with Slimband in Toronto and I rely on website support groups like this. I am counting calories and trying to keep my sugars and carbs low. I find I have a hard time ingesting more than 1200 calories a day with my band at 4CC now. I use the small plate and I have to eat so slowly. I find I'm not hungry at all!

    Bad week on diet.

I agree with the others - it does take time and it can be frustrating. I didn't feel restriction until my last fill - I have a 10cc band and I now have 4cc in my band. It's taking me a long time to finish a meal and I have to take tiny bites. I feel like I'm now in the "green zone" that others talk about. But you do have to work with the band - eating your protein, small bites, chewing slowly. Hoping you feel that restriction soon!
  4. I had my surgery on Dec 5th 2016 and I had my second fill 2 weeks ago and I am feeling a lot of restriction now. I have 4CCs in my band. The first week after the 2CC fill was hard - I really struggled to eat and experienced pain if I ate too quickly. Now that the swelling of my stomach has subsided I definitely feel a difference. I've dropped nearly 10lbs since my fill. I am ingesting around 1000-1200 calories per day and do not feel hungry at all! I'm thinking this is the "sweet spot" everyone talks about. It does take me nearly 30 minutes to eat, however!

    Missing Fluid

Are you sure you had 7CC to begin with? When I got mine, I had no idea how much was in my band after surgery - Slimband informed me 1CC was put in there initially and then I've had two fills since - 1 at 1CC and then my second at 2CC and I have a lot of restriction...It takes me nearly 30 minutes to eat a meal. I would think if you are still feeling restriction you must not be leaking?

    Waiting on First Fill

Hope you feel a difference! I need things to lighten up a wee bit so I can eat my food while it's at least hot LOL

    2nd Fill Tomorrow

How are you guys doing with the fills since January? I have experienced the same feeling - I"m super restricted right now. Got a 2 CC fill on Friday - It's taking me 30 minutes to eat my scrambled eggs...did things ease up a bit?

    Weight gain?

Give it some time! I'm just over 3 months post op and I'm down 13 pounds. I just got my second adjustment last Friday so I am now sitting at 4CC and I think I couldn't take any more. I feel pretty restricted right now. I know I lost 12 lbs pretty quick post op, but then managed to fluctuate between a 10 and 8 lb loss...this week I've dipped down 4 pounds since my fill. I'm discovering that this is a very slow process and much of it is psychological for me. I am so used to eating larger portion and eating quickly. This band is reminding me that it's not possible anymore! Good luck!

    Waiting on First Fill

How did your first fill go?
  10. I just received my second adjustment last Friday - Slimband approved me for a 2CC fill, which puts me at 4CC total right now. I have to say, I definitely feel a huge difference and I'm trying to determine if I'm in this "GREEN ZONE" everyone speaks of, or if I'm too tight. I have to eat very slowly and extremely small bites. Even then I'm feeling a lot of restriction and eating scrambled eggs is taking me 30 minutes. I have a feeling my stomach is a bit swollen, which might account for the tightness as well. I'm willing to give it a few weeks to see if I can manage. When I was at 2CC I found I could pretty much eat fine - albeit slower but I didn't get that FULL sensation like I do now. I'm struggling to compete 1100 calories a day right now. Water and coffee go down just fine. Not sure what everyone elses experience is? It's been a little over 3 months and I'm down 13 pounds.

Nearly a year in and Not losing weight.

@@Treacle927 - I was banded in December 2106 - so while I'm not as far out as you, I'm feeling frustration like you! I've only had one filll - do not feel any increase in restriction, so I'm sure I'll have a second and likely third. 3.5 CCs after 7 fills seems pretty low- have you followed up with your Dr? I think after a year I'd be throwing myself on my Dr's doorstep. Think of you and sending positive thought!
  12. I was banded Dec 2/16 - I just had my first "fill/adjustment" last Thursday and I feel no difference. I have to wait 4 weeks in between appointments, but I'm looking forward to hitting my "sweet spot" and start losing weight. I'm down 9.6lbs since my surgery and sticking to 1390 calories a day. I agree @treacie927 - plan my meals and Snacks and still feel hungry!
