You can also get the plain protein powder and put it in crystal light - I use Jay Robb. Right after surgery I was putting it my soup also.

Way to go!! Glad you had a good time!

Congratulations-You look great! I keep stalking also and the dr. told me that since I don't have 100's of lbs to lose- my loss will be slow. I feel like the inches are coming off b/c I'm working out. Have you tried other shakes? Premier, jay robb? Nugo slim bars are also great for protein and fiber. Do you go to local support groups? We just had a meeting at the one I go to and they targeted food choices. Hang in there!

Way to go!! -
Oops, I hit send by accident. Just a reminder that the choices we make with what we eat and the exercise we choose to either incorporate into our life or not will determine our future in terms of keeping the weight off. Good luck on your journey!

The surgery is a tool to help you lose the weight. I was told that no matter what you do the first year you will lose. We have a year to get into a routine with proper eating habits and exercise to follow for the rest of our lives. I have 2 friends that had this surgery approx 2+ years ago and both of them have gained some of their weight back.

You can do this!!! Stock up on things you can eat- premier shakes, broth, I had egg drop soup- that was filling. My nutritionist told me to blend 1/3 of a banana into my morning protein shake with peanut butter, jello, etc. It's all worth it! Get a pedi, go for a walk, etc. good luck! -
Wow! Looks great!! I looked back at the pics in the beginning of the post -WOW! What an amazing transformation from before your surgery. This is your reward for all the work you put into your weight loss journey (too bad they don't include this in the package as a bonus). Congrats!!!!

Weight loss doing great, but darn, I'm always hungry!!!
Sandee29 replied to gwbicster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, cooking for one is difficult. I found a ton of recipes on bariatric sites and Pinterest that my family also enjoys. I take out a few containers for myself and portion out my lunches for a couple of days and freeze some. Costco sells a lot of ready made food if cooking is difficult and you just want the grab & go lifestyle. I stock up on precooked chicken skewers, lox, guacamole, chicken sausage) I am addicted to their stuffed peppers which goes in the oven for about an hour and I have lunch/dinner for a week. I ALWAYS have snacks with me (pistachio nuts, spiced cashews, tuna pouches, humus/veggies and protein bars- Nugo Slim ones are sooo good and come in a few different flavors) Prior to the surgery I never had a plan - so I know having a plan and things handy will help me be successful. I do the occasional Wendy's with my daughter (she's 6 y/o) we get the 6 piece nugget and I'm fine with 2 [emoji106]. Good luck and I wish you luck in finding what works for you! -

I'm 6 1/2 months out- down 55 lbs. I still eat everything, just in much smaller portions. So don't eat everything that isn't nailed down ladies! Breathe! Life is great on the other side. Good luck!
