Poopy probs pls help !
sleevinpops replied to Amy1234's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem after my surgery and for about 1.5 months after. Check with your doctor to see if been fiber is ok to take (my guess is yes as that's what mine recommended) it worked great for me. It has no flavor, dissolves completely. I add two teaspoons to each 8oz of water and have not had any issues since. Do not strain though -
Congratulations! Keep up the great work Em!

Let me first say, you look amazing! Keep up the great work! I was sleeved in February and at about Month 3, found my appetite really getting larger. I am still eating a lot of protein 4-8 oz per meal but lately also saw a jump in my carbs. I got pretty lax over the past week (holiday cookouts) and didn't exercise as much and ended up gaining about 5 lbs. everyone is different so I would suggest just monitoring your macros to make sure your staying in the right nutritional zones set by your doc. And make sure to keep moving.

What do we need!?
sleevinpops replied to Becoming_Me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A really good pair of sneakers. after surgery you should start walking as it will help not only to help the continued weight loss, but also really helps to move the gas and heal your body. I also would suggest a Fitbit or some other pedometer, to track your steps and motivate you to keep active. This has been a HUGE help to keeping me moving. Good luck! -
You shouldn't be concerned as you are still healing and your body needs to catch up. Make sure to follow your nutritionists recommendations and also try tracking your macro nutrients to keep within the plan. Remember, it's a marathon not a sprint. You got this!

Quitting smoking was the most difficult part of the journey for me. Take it one day at a time, drink lots of water and take a walk instead. After the first day, assess what went well and identify where the challenges wee so you can plan a strategy to get through the next situation for craving. It takes 21 days to fully clear your system of the nicotene, so just take it one day at a time. I'm happy to say that not only am I down about 60 lbs since my surgery, but have been smoke free for over 6 months now! Keep strong, you can do it!

3 days post op
sleevinpops replied to Ready4aNewStart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The weight gain is from the fluids pumped in for surgery as well as swelling from surgery. He best advice that I was given and seemed to work great was keep walking. It helps to move and expel the gas while promoting healing. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress! -
This is probably the most difficult to do. I have had (regrettably) been sick twice from eating too fast. While it was not pleasant, it did help me focus on slowing down. Kimberly is right, just put down the utensils in between, and you may focus more on what's in your mouth than the next bite.

Starting my 2 week Post Op diet and looking for some help
sleevinpops replied to FattoFit7's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Premier does seem to have the smoothest and great flavors. And your recommendation of the lasagna bake is great, I had this after surgery (soft food stage) and it was awesome! -

How much water should I be drinking?
sleevinpops replied to jjsasha's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
At least 64 at first, but more as you go out. Especially if you are exercising since you will be burning calories and sweating. Don't get dehydrated... -

Walking-Carbs-Calories....Need advice!

Nc, focus on the % of nutrients to total calories. If you are increasing calories burned through walking, you are burning other nuts too. Use an app like myfitnesspal to log your meals and set your nut %'s. Your doctor can advise these targets, but for example mine are 60% protein, 30% fat (good fats), and 10% carbs. I burn about 1200 additional calories from walking but the app takes this into consideration. Don't focus on the grams but stay in the range of your target % intake.
