sleevinpops replied to augustgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I am two weeks since my sleeve surgery. Over the past week, have not lost any weight and I look more bloated now than following surgery and all last week. Has anyone else experienced this too? I am still liquids only with 5-5oz Protein shakes per day.. Average steps per day around 8,000 (was sick for a day).

I bought my own bathrobe and slippers and wore it the entire time after surgery when walking the halls. Left in a pair of loose sweatpants and button up flannel shirt (went for soft and comfortable)

What did you take with you to the hospital
sleevinpops replied to bnicolexo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pillow for the ride home, slippers and bathrobe if you prefer and change of clothes for when you leave. They will give you gasx, biogenesis, cepacol (sore throat), and toiletries if you need em. -

My first time eating pizza!
sleevinpops replied to scampbell33's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I found a better way and MUCH less expensive way...make your own. Google chicken crust pizza. Basically take ground chicken, season, flatten onto 6" pizza round or pan, pre bake, then add your toppings! My wife tried it this weekend to get used to this type of cooking, she used fat free bacon and ranch dressing (low cal & sugar, no carbs), grilled chicken, garlic and bacon bits, then low fat mozzarella cheese. She couldn't stop raving! Gonna try marinara, mushroom, onion, spinach and mozzarella next time. I think I'll start a posting for recipe ideas! -
I was done on the 9th, I'm on clear liquids for 3 weeks (March 2!) then purée for 3 more weeks before going to normal eating. I did get an ok to have yogurt beginning this thusday, but limited to 4 oz twice a day. It seems rediculous, but I've come this far to not follow their process at the end.

Surgery tomorrow
sleevinpops replied to smileramirez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations! Good luck, your gonna do great! Walk when you can, it will really help afterwards. -
Anyone have this insurance? If so, I have completed the 6 month program as required, met with surgeon last week and had paperwork sent in after. Scheduled all pre-op tests for 30th with surgery scheduled for 2/9. Still haven't received ins. approval so called to check. They say don't have anything and it takes 60-90 days anyway to approve once they get it! Seriously! Is this correct? Surgeons office told me it's within 15 days. Which is correct? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Stretching the sleeve: Myth or True?!

I need your help..
sleevinpops replied to TheRevisionedVagabond's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Captain, you know that was not a good decision, so don't dwell on it, instead let it be an opportunity to have you refocus on the process. Remember, surgery is not meant to be a miracle cure, but rather is a tool to help you change your lifestyle. All the preparing has brought you to this point, but the journey continues. Over the next year, you should be concentrated in maintaining and creating healthy eating habits. Find alternative healthy solutions and start with those. Have a discussion about this with your Nut and Psych as well as your doc. You may also see if there are any sleeve support groups in your area. You can do this! -
I was at the supermarket today and found a sugar free be sauce. G.hughes is the name, no sugar, and only 2carbs. I bought a couple bottles of hickory & maple. I'm going to be starting purée and soft foods in two weeks and thought I would use this sauce with chicken a boneless ribs. In a crockpot, let the meats sit all day with the sauce them purée. Is this okay to do? I think it would be, but figured I'd check.

Feeling kind of betrayed
sleevinpops replied to elliekay's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Get rid of the chocolates! All of the work, changes and sacrifices you have made, yet you don't want to hurt his feelings! I think you need to asses your priorities. YOU SHOULD COME FIRST! Though he may not have all the "details" of your surgery, is he that ignorant not to hear your comments and requests before hand? And when asked to say it was stupid; No, he he was stupid! Let him see you trashing them, it will show that you mean what you say. If he has a problem with it, that's his problem to deal with. -

How easily can your stomach stretch??
sleevinpops replied to crivera's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The stomach does not stretch. Check out this website (some great presentations on vsg'rs) it has one presentation specific to this question and presented by the surgeon. http://drmatthewweiner.com/how-to-prevent-your-stomach-from-stretching-after-weight-loss-surgery/ -
