Ahhh surgery is tomorrow!

I had to quit too and agree was probably the toughest thing to do. But after a few months, cravings are not too bad any more. Whenever I had the urge, I took a walk. It really helped. Even in bad weather, could go to a mall and just walk the mall, or inside a large store. Now, I have a treadmill so don't have to worry about the weather, and we will need to walk a lot after surgery. Being sleeved 2/9 Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Anyone have this insurance? If so, I have completed the 6 month program as required, met with surgeon last week and had paperwork sent in after. Scheduled all pre-op tests for 30th with surgery scheduled for 2/9. Still haven't received ins. approval so called to check. They say don't have anything and it takes 60-90 days anyway to approve once they get it! Seriously! Is this correct? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Anyone know how long it takes to get the insurance approval? I am scheduled for 2/9 but still haven't heard on insurance approval since last Tuesday's last appointment. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

As long as you had the consecutive months and weigh ins, I think you'll be ok. Fingers crossed for ya! Keep us posted on your date too. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

How to deal with Coworkers knowing you're getting this surgery! Tell or not to tell?
sleevinpops replied to julia454's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't overthink this Julia, you are doing this for you and not them. This is not a decision you made lightly, nor on the spur of the moment. It is a tool along with the other changes you have and will continue to maintain to have a healthier lifestyle. I think if you decide to tell them, they will more than likely be supportive. But remember, this is for you, they don't need to approve Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
That should be it. There was probably a nutritionist that advised what/how you should be eating or modifying, working out and excersizes, sample food plans, different types of Protein, etc. It is up to you to implement the change in your diet, they want to see progress over the 6 months. I think you'll be ok. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Sounds like your on the right track daily! I had to quit smoking, and just went cold turkey. They do test before the surgery and based on what I've read, it takes about 3-5 days for nicotine to be out of your system. However there can still be traces in blood or urine. To be really clear will take a few weeks. I with this in mind, I picked a date, then each day acknowledged I was one day closer to being rid of it. By day 4 celebrated it out of the system and next target was 2 weeks, or in my opinion, halfway to clear. It's not easy, but break it up into smaller and manageable success points and you will beat the habit! Good luck! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
