    Energy help

Check with your nutritionist, I know mine was not convinced about the vitamin patch, had me change to chewables (honestly in my own opinion since changing, my energy level is through the roof) but they know your situation better. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  9. So I am scheduled to have surgery on Thursday. I am down 30 lbs since starting the process and though clothes are much looser, have not gotten anything new yet. I have 2 weeks off from work and wondering if I should expect them to be any looser after just 2 weeks? (Thinking about it, it's a nice problem to have!). I wear suits for work so not planning to buy any so soon after. Any thoughts on this? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Liquid vitamins

My surgeon advised against liquid vitamins. Was not convinced they are absorbed as efficiently as chewables. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

C pap machine and dry mouth!

My CPAP has a heated hose to provide a humid air flow. Helps the dry mouth. If you have the same, try adjusting humidity level. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Holy Carbs Batman!

I think everyone is a little different, so you will want to check with your nutritionist. Mine has me at <30 per day. This is even pre-op. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Protein shakes

Premier Protein are very good & 30 grams of protein. For powder, Isopure is very good, high protein low and no carb flavors or sugar. Also try PB2, it is Peanut Butter powder, good protein and low carbs good for mixing into chocolate shakes. You can also add 1tsp of sugar free Jello flavors to any powder mixed to make different kinds of flavors. Have fun with it and enjoy! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Smoking, drinking and food!

i know what you mean Julia, I gave up the smokes too a few months ago and still get wicked cravings! For me, when I ghetto the urge, I will go for a walk or drink some Water with Mio flavoring. It has worked to take away the edge. I was chewing gum, but my doc said no gum after surgery, so had to stop that. I'd be curious to hear some things you have started to help . I will say, I don't crave as much anymore, but every now and then it is tough. Keep it up though, you'll be thankful long term. YOU GOT THIS! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Ugh....6 months?!?!

I had a 6 month process, and at first I was disappointed, but now I'm happy to have had that time to really prepare. This is a major lifestyle change. If it were quick, I don't think I would be as prepared mentally , physically or spiritually. I was able to create health habits, like walking every day. Cutting out sweets, and learning to eat properly, quitting smoking etc. I am scheduled to have my surgery next Thursday (woohoo!) and feel that I am in the right place now to take this next step. After all, this is a journey, and not an overnight quick fix. In hind sight, I can't believe how fast the time has gone, but I appreciate all I have learned, and those that are supporting (including those I have met here). I believe it will help me to be successful in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Keeping a journal

I am using my fitness pal which tracks all of that plus has a journal. I keep it to myself however. It is helpful on days where it seems I'm not making progress. Keep me focused. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
