Losing more of my bottom half than top?
Lulu_RNY replied to Lulu_RNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never even thought to do that! That's actually a good idea...just because your right...it's coming off so quickly that everyone else is complimenting me but I don't see that my belly has gotten smaller like my hips and thighs! Measuring tape it is thank you! -
Anyone 370 lbs or more?
Lulu_RNY replied to js_gonna_be_vsg's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
The beginning of my journey I was 398...day of surgery (December 22nd 2016) I weighed 345 and today I am 303 so in about a month and a half I've lost 42 pounds! I've seen some people lose faster than others but at the end of the day were all losing and regaining our health! That's all that matters! Good luck Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App -
I'm officially one month post op! Yaaay! For my first month I've had a total weight loss of 33 pounds sonce surgery....but I've had a stall for about 2 weeks idk what's going on? The scale is REFUSING to move!!! Is this normal? Will I eventually go back to losing the weight? Also I was wondering if anyone had any food recommendations upon being one month post op? Thank you! How much have you lost 1st month post op?
Lulu_RNY replied to ncbrandie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was bypassed on 12/22 as well!! I'm currently going through this "stall"...although I have lost a really good amount of weight already. It's still discouraging not seeing the scale move for awhile! Surgery day weight: 345 Current weight: 313 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App -
Pureed food stage
Lulu_RNY replied to HeidiSue2009's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay! Puréed food is like heaven after being on liquids for so long lol! I started this past Friday and my first meal was scrambled eggs (chewed VERY well) or you could throw it in the food processor with a teaspoon of salsa and a thin slice of avocado! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
I'm glad you asked this question because I was thinking the same thing! I can drink with no problem (granted I can't do more than ONE gulp at a time) it's way more than just a sip though with no problems...and my NUT told me that 2 oz should be suffice while on purees but I can finish the 4? I wonder if that's a problem.... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App

For those of you who did not have "food funerals":
Lulu_RNY replied to TheRevisionedVagabond's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah I totally know what you mean by that! I keep telling myself it's all mental, but I'm REALLY regretting not having a "food funeral" I'm in week 2 of my 2 week pre-op diet & it's been very hard. I fear that I will regret it post surgery because not only will I not be able to eat "real" solid food, I can't eat much period. I keep saying "it will be easier" strictly because I shouldn't feel hungry post surgery. But I obviously don't know that because I'm not post surgery lol! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Not gonna lie! For me it was difficult knowing that I couldn't eat "real" food post-op even me NOT being hungry! But if your holding out during pre-op even with the temptation. You'll be fine during post-op! Once you start seeing that your shedding those pounds...food will be the last thing on your mind!! I'm 12 days post op and seeing as I'm only on purreed foods there are times where I see my family eat and my face looks devastated! Lol BUT I can tell you I do not regret it one bit...I've already lost 22 lbs and loving and enjoying it more than the last supper! The first few days after surgery were definitely the worst for me where I almost felt shakes to have "real" food. It's all mental. Remember that! I know it can be frustrating. Seeing as I was in the SAME boat. So this is what I did...after the appointment where I was sure they were going to approve a surgery date for me my doctor told me I was shy 6 lbs of being approved. I was DEVASTATED, instead of being discouraged I IMMEDIATELY went on strict diet and drank TONS of Water. I lived off Protein shakes for Breakfast, hard boiled eggs for snack and baked or sautéed chicken on a salad and drank LOTS of water throughout the day. I also tried my best to incorporate at least a half hour of some type of "workout" even if it was just dancing. I lost 14 lbs within a week and a half! Just stay strong and think about why your doing this whenever u feel like "cheating". But don't beat yourself up, keep your head up and stay determined. It will happen. I also did turkey wraps or sandwiches (on wheat bread) for lunch! And had Greek yogurt as well! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App

CONFESSION: Surg 12/22 with stretched stomach?
Lulu_RNY replied to nburton5's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We're human....not robots lol granted some of us have greater will power than others (def not me!) I'm glad u were brave enough to post something like this simply because I'm sure there are people who have gone through this and are just scared to put themselves out there. I too have not followed my diet accordingly which I feel guilty of as well. I've been going through the diet phases 2 or 3 days earlier than instructed too. It's harder for some people than others just know your're not alone and we all learn from our mistakes! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App -
I felt the same way too!!! That's normal though!! Bigger sips happen especially once your stomachs inflammation has gone down. I'm currently still on my liquid diet and I ate sugar free Jello for the first time today and it was SO satisfying! (I've been on a liquid diet for 10 days now) don't feel bad girl...eat the jello! It'll be counted towards your Fluid intake too!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App

Hunger Pains?
Lulu_RNY replied to fallenfeatherstudio's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Lulu_RNY I'm having the exact opposite :/ I'm not hungry in the least! Today my two year old brought me three chocolate chip Cookies and any other time previous to this I would have eaten them all. Even if I wasn't hungry. It was weird. I held them and didn't even care. I wasn't concerned or wanting for them at all? I don't know if it's psychosomatic or not but hey I'll take it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Uuugh I wish I could say the same!!! Hopefully when I start purree it will sustain this feeling!! Saint Francis Hospital Hartford
Lulu_RNY replied to Trayjay33's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I was surprised when I came across this post!!! Simply because i just had my bypass done with st.francis last week and they were wonderful. The nurses, doctors, surgeons and etc. Just everything was so accommodating and continues to be even out of the hospital! I'm glad they were able to show you how good of a facility they can really be! Congratulations on your success thus far! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App -
Hey everyone! So im currently 6 days post-op on a liquid diet. During my hospital stay (2 days) they had me drinking Water and Protein shakes. Every hour I had to drink 2 medicine cups of each (4 cups total every hour) and even that was HARD to get down doing sip by sip. But now I'm drinking that AND more within an hour feeling no discomfort and my sips aren't really sips any more lol I just wanna know if it's normal to be drinking alot more within the first week? Drinking way more than required?
Lulu_RNY replied to Lulu_RNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will qualify this a bit, since I have a sleeve, and not the RNY. But I was just in my appointment yesterday, and the CRNP told me that I did not have to worry about stretching my sleeve in one episode. It takes time over several instances. I would suspect that even if it were easier with an RNY pouch, you don't have to worry about a single episode where you stretched it out like a balloon you blew up too far. That's great to know! Made me feel so much better! Thank u! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App -
