I can understand. I get the "I feel bad because you can't eat all this stuff" constantly. I'm like I am happy with my decision...quit feeling bad, and let it go. I don't have the beautiful problem lol...or handsome....but I feel better and can do tons more than I could even 6 months ago. Sent from Larry's S7 That's all you need to worry about take care of you.

They still made us pay. Instead of apologizing, they would have rather been jerks to us and act like we didn't matter. I have all the screen shots of the incident on Facebook, but I wonder if it's against forum rules to post the restaurant name? I'm never going back. But if I feel like someone is overcharging me for something, then I am going to voice that. He never once told me it was the store policy. He just claimed that he gave me more food; which I did not ask for and did not eat. I didn't get mad in public. I quietly voiced my confusion and frustration to the assistant manager, because he was dismissing my concern. I figured that had I brought it to his attention, he would be a professional and politely explain that it was on the menu, but he didn't. Therefor, I was under the impression that he was deliberately trying to tack on a charge for extra food that I did not eat or ask for. I have my sanity, thank you. But I refuse to let someone bully me. So just because it's done all the time to other people, I should let them harass me on Facebook on a review? Did you read all the posts on this thread? Your mentality is bad business and bad customer service. I'm so glad SOMEBODY finally stated the obvious!! I used to own a restaurant also and this kind of customer gave me a headache just seeing them walk in!! Seriously people, double dishes, double Water, double sides etc. $3.00 is cheap! And for the manager spoke to you like that at the restaurant, something else was said! No manager starts out a conversation rudely to a customer unless some other incident or words proceeded it.I was not aware that there was a $3.00 split charge. I was not mean to the assistant manager. I became frustrated because he was rude. Did you read all the comments? Because I stated MANY TIMES that the assistant manager was rude to us when he was telling me why there was a split charge. And that is a COMPLETE LIE. We were NOT rude to the assistant manager. Why do you think I'm so frustrated? We did nothing to deserve that treatment. We were not aware that split fees even existed. So if you believed that someone was cheating you, wouldn't you become confused and refuse to pay the charge? Your mentality is incorrect, especially since you think that an assistant manager can't act rude unless provoked. Since you think I'm lying, then your input is no longer relevant on my post. Move along.I've worked in restaurants for a bit and it sounds like you went there more than once, if you are a regular customer or even just live in the area we would never charge that fee, also I used to work double shifts where about 5 or 6 older gentlemen would take up the biggest table in the place and just drink coffee for hours, they were only paying 1.50 for coffee the whole time. The manager was totally wrong to treat you like that, he's definitely not very good with people skills and his business will suffer because not too many people would go there to be treated like that. Sharing or not if one person is ordering maybe that's all they could eat. Maybe they both had our wls and can't eat that much anymore. I've seen homeless people sit in a restaurant just to get warm and my manager would have us give them some soup FREE, MY GOD, I can't believe we treat people like this , and for the rude comments the other lady said, she really needs people skills. My restaurant manager used to let my daughter come home from the pool and feed her and her friends while I was working. He was a smart business man he even ordered her a pizza one day. I am really frustrated that you had such a bad experience. I'm so mad that $3.00 would cause such a problem, tell me where he's at and I will send him an extra 3.00 for your next visit on me.I'm not so worried about getting mad in PUBLIC! I have no problem with it but I've never been rude purposely.

Starting liquid diet 2 weeks pre-sleeve
pvechiola replied to jrl89's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've read that they will cancel your surgery if you eat while on the pre-op liquid diet because the fluids are what makes your liver less fatty, the liver has to be shrunk so the surgeon can see your stomach easier. Check with your nutritionist. -
Ladies! Who are feeling frumpy!
pvechiola replied to ambernoel's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I had to have a breast reduction just so I could go to the gym, it was horrible, my chest was so large I couldn't breathe when I tried to rest, go up stairs. I was pretty much unable to walk without severe back pain and my shoulders had divots where my bra strap was. I had the surgery and I was sore but when I woke I felt an immediate relief from the compression of the weight that was removed, they took 8 lbs off of me I was a 42j and now I am a 42D and it's the best thing I ever had done. I can actually buy a bra anywhere and it actually fits perfect. -

I originally thought the same thing, but I've noticed a few on Instagram who are able to have facial piercings left in, so it's confused me! I'll take them out if I have to, suppose this is something to ask my surgeon asap. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App They aren't doing the surgery on your face.

Regrets after surgery?
pvechiola replied to ecoreen94's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had my surgery yet, but yes as bad as I feel having extra weight on me I really wish I would of done it sooner also. -
Today my mom said that me needing surgery for my weight is all in my head. I share a house with mom and dad and my brother and whenever they can they take jabs at my weight gain. I've told them that it upsets me but they kinda do it anyway. I'm trying my best to watch what I'm eating and when I say I don't want to eat something they're cooking they talk about me like I'm not even there, saying sarcastically, oh she's not eating this she's on her diet, it really makes me think badly of myself for letting myself get this way with the weight gain and all. I've never had a real problem with my weight until I went to rehab for drug addiction. I really think I just substituted drugs for food. I'm fine with it because if I can overcome my drug addiction, I have 7 years sober, I have faith I can overcome food addiction. I just don't know how to handle all their snide comments about my weight. It's very hurtful especially coming from my own family. Anyone have any ideas on how to handle this. I am 4'11" and my starting weight was 238, I am now about 208-210, I am fluctuating all the time but they are really depressing me, at least I'm trying to better myself, when I came back home after my divorce at 238 lbs I also had to have a breast reduction surgery that helped me be able to exercise, I was a 42J now I'm a 42D, a huge improvement that enabled me to at least get up and go to the gym. I've been extremely active since last winter after my breast surgery, working outside on the yard, garden, mowing the lawn, now I can do all these things but no significant weight loss. Main problem though I am wondering how to handle the sarcastic remarks and not feel so alone and just want to cry. Any ideas??

Protein powder recommendations

Thank you for that, you're right I am in Melrose Park, near Chicago and my first support group meeting is on Tuesday night. I'm pretty sure I can find some positive reactions there because some of the people on here are kind of rude or they need better people skills. I'll be good thank you for the support group info I will definitely work it out.

He isn't alone unless your mother and brother are incompetent or incapable. Another option is a home aide to care for him. You really need to work on your people skills before assuming anyone is incompetent that was very rude. FYI my mom works at the school district FT and my brother works 6 days a week, another FYI my mom is 73. I am on disability and all of us have a separate job in this family. I asked for help dealing with their comments and opinions about my commitment to go forward with wls not to bash my family because they are scared for me. We have a beautiful home and we work hard to keep together. I hope you learn some people skills before you insult anyone else on this website, you could easily hurt someone with words.

They probably have never had an addiction, which makes it all the more easier for me to accept this as one.I was addicted to drugs and when I finally got sober I think that's when I traded drugs for food. All addiction is the same. Now I talk myself out of late night binging by using my AA material. It does work. I just have to practice it every day and I try to wake up every day and decide to eat right every day. My friends either have someone in their family or know someone who has had this wls so the hell with the ones that don't understand it.

Yes you're right, I can't leave my family my dad has alhzeimers and dementia and can't stay home alone. I am just going to put only thicker skin.

Complications from advancing diet too soon
pvechiola replied to Frenchie1977's topic in Rants & Raves
No matter how many people get this surgery there are always people who are going to want to do it the softer easier way and that's why they will probably gain back their weight in about five years. Eating things we liked before are what got us this way in the first place, I am surely not looking forward to having surgery just to gain it back or have a revision I'm sorry but it's alot harder to make a complete change in your life and stick to it than it is to ," cheat a little " I for one will stick to the diets and listen to my surgeon because I want my great body back and will never be so ashamed ever to go out in public and the eating food part can kill you if you don't get the surgery or if you do get the surgery and don't follow the instructions like cheating or sneaking food just because you want to satisfy a craving, it's just not worth it to me. -

Thanks for sharing, sorry for your loss, your story definitely made me start writing down everything I am going to need and have it all ready for my liquid diet before and after my surgery. You really made me think thank-you -
It's the perfect place to vent, I've been reading alot about husbands not being able to handle it after the surgery is done. I'm currently not married or even in a relationship, maybe after a time to reflect he will feel better, sometimes you need to be alone to realize what you want in life I myself don't understand why a husband would leave it's just like having your appendix or your gallbladder removed. It's also a health issue to prevent co-morbidities in our lives. I don't understand men at all that's why I stay single. Just sending prayers your way, remember when one door closes god opens another we never even know what's on the other one.

Alot of restaurants add a split fee that I've worked in, it's not them cutting the burger for you , they charge the fee because you only ordered one meal and there were two of you, I feel it's very unfair. One time when I wasn't having weight problems I knew I couldn't eat a regular cheeseburger at McDonald's so I ordered a happy meal, it's a little bit smaller portion the cashier said she couldn't sell me a happy meal unless I had a child with me. I called the manager and I got my way but I was insulted by the fact that they thought they could get away with that, and if the waiter didn't tell you about the split fee charge ahead of time you are not required to pay it. I would ask first next time you want to split food .
