  1. I don't count calories, but i have a general idea of how many calories I get from counting the protein.

    Sashimi?

I was thinking soft foods as well, but I'm gonna give the nutritionist a call!

    I've been thinking about it!

    Rice?

No problem! There are some awesome purée recipes in the food and nutrition forum. It's been my lifeline haha

    Onederland!

Dreaming of this day! I haven't been below 200 since I was in middle school.
  7. Cravings have been hard. I had a DS so I don't have dumping syndrome as an incentive to stay away from sweets. Instead, I just fill up on protein so there's no room haha. Cooking has actually been fun. I've had to get creative. It's also been hard to stay off the scale every single day. Other than that, I've had a really good experience. The pain was tough, but it passes. Right now I just can't wait for solid foods!
  8. Use fair life milk as a snack. 13g in 8oz. Cottage cheese and Greek yogurt is good. I make chicken salad with Greek yogurt for the extra protein. You could also add egg to chicken salad for a boost.
  9. I use bralettes. I was a D before surgery, so the bralettes provide enough support for my tiny tatas.
  10. I was barely doing any to be totally honest. I started back walking around the neighborhood and a little bit of jogging yesterday at 3 weeks. I wasn't cleared for exercise for two weeks anyway.

    Rice?

Instead of rice, try avocado, or make chicken salad with mayo and some dill relish. The rice will bloat your stomach and you won't have enough room for the protein. Maybe chicken broth and well cooked carrots to get a soup flavor?
  12. I also didn't rate my pain high enough. I've had debilitating migraines my whole life, so my pain tolerance is pretty high. In hindsight, I should've called my 5 an 8when I first woke up. By the end of the evening I was sitting around a 5 or 6, and was down to a 4 the next day and went home that evening.
  13. Gas-x was a life saver the first few days haha

    Mushy foods stage

There are some really good posts about this in the food and nutrition section! I found a ton of good recipes for my puréed phase.
  15. I had a DS, which involves your stomach being sleeved, along with some intestinal malabsorption. I had pretty bad gas pain, but to say it was intolerable for me would not be true. In the hospital it was tough, but walking helped a ton. It was a little worse when I got home and moved to full liquids. I slept propped up for a few nights, but once I was home I only used my pain meds at night. It lasts about a week (or 3-5 days) and then gets much better. Don't let the pain scare you out of the surgery. It's more than worth it!

    Hunger Two Weeks PostOp

So, from what I've been told, it's not really hunger, it's gas. I experienced it too, and I was super confused haha. But it's also possible that you could be experiencing hunger if you aren't getting in your protein.
  17. Syntrax nectar is really good, and a nice change from the milky sweet stuff most of us are used to.

My horrible experience at a restaurant.

@@OutsideMatchInside you're right, it is. I didn't even think about that, just the smaller portion size ha

    OVER protein shakes

Try Syntrax Nectar. They have fruity flavors that kind of taste like crystal light. It's very refreshing

@@PrettyThick1 where can you get a Bariatric Patient card? For your doctor? I didn't know that was a thing. I'd love to be able to order off of the kids menu haha

    Question?

A lot of people get revisions from the sleeve to the DS too, which is the surgery I had. I opted for it for the same reason that a lot of people go for the RNY. I wanted one surgery, with great long term results. I've lost 31 pounds in 4 weeks, and I'm sitting at 238.
  22. Once I hit the regular food stage, I should be around 800-1000 depending on how much I work out. Right now I'm between 600-800.

    Walk v. Run

So, when I worked with a personal trainer for a bit, she told me that you burn the same amount of calories walking, as you do running. I think this means that if you walk at the same speed that you run, then it burns the same number of calories. Running is more efficient for your heart though, so that's why I've really been working on running.

  25. From my one week pre-op to today, I've lost 28 lbs. started at 270, was 260 at time of surgery and now weigh 242. I'm only 3 weeks post op, but I've only lost a pound in the past week, so I'm a little stalled.
