Tummy Tuck and Inner Thigh Lift
Kaylamh replied to Spiceyfrog's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
OP, how long was your recovery? Once I hit goal, I'm thinking of having the inner thigh lift, along with a breast lift and (maybe, depending on funding) having my bat wings removed. Tummy tuck is an option, but honestly not a huge worry of mine. -
@@nolaguy I've definitely noticed a change. Less cushion in the bottom=deeper penetration. Make sure you're not hitting her cervix! We've had to make a few adjustments because of that.

I just had a four ounce filet cooked medium rare, courtesy of yours truly! It took 2 sessions to finish, but it was delicious. No problems! It honestly goes down more easily than chicken.

So - this is what hungry feels like?
Kaylamh replied to Wonder WomanNJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's definitely different. My hunger comes as like a gassy bubbly stomach gurgle lol. It's hard to explain -
I didn't have any sugar cravings after surgery until I ate it. I've been having a hard time the past few days with carbs and sugar. I know that I need to cut it out entirely now, but I've also proven to myself that it's sooooo not worth it! I eat it, and it's just not as good as I remember it being.

Are you drinking from a straw? That always gets me. I also burp a ton if I eat too fast, and for pretty much any other reason haha

Sleeping on side.
Kaylamh replied to barrel racer again's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A lot of people say to sleep on your back because it helps to stay propped up. I slept on my side, but at an angle with a pillow pressed firmly against my incisions. It helps a lot -
I know you have all heard it all before...
Kaylamh replied to Alistmurf's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you're fine, but you should probably call your doctors office to make sure. I only had a 7 day pre-op so you should have plenty of time to get back on track -
I love Oikos! I get the peach flavored triple zero. Super good

Protein shakes liquid or food?
Kaylamh replied to augustgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Protein shakes don't count as food in that instance. Someone asked that during one of our classes. You're good! -
Could my period be causing weight gain
Kaylamh replied to chewbug26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The three week stall is very very real. Look into it. Your period can cause some fluctuation too -
@@Coachthex32 I'm currently studying English Ed, and I plan to pursue a masters in school admin as well! Just gotta get my field years in haha

I was allowed soft white fish on my puréed phase, so I did that. I also made chicken salad, but I made it homemade in a blender rather than using the canned stuff. I also ate a lot of eggs.

Advancing your diet- on your own
Kaylamh replied to TheRevisionedVagabond's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I advanced a couple of days early for all of my phases, but only by trying little bits at a time. I didn't just go straight from liquids to chicken salad, but I went to puréed cauliflower and yogurt and things like that before fully progressing. I found I tolerated things more easily when I made the transition slowly. I'm currently in soft foods and pretty content. I just can't wait for salads! -
That's what I would do too. The skin is just extra fat that you don't really need.

Halo Top High Protein Ice Cream!
Kaylamh replied to bleonhardt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I LOVE HALO TOP The s'mores is super good -
You're doing your body such a big favor. It's okay to be jittery, but think about your future, and how much it will improve!

Unpleasant topic...smelly poop
Kaylamh replied to cozycastle50's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's totally normal, along with bad breath. It has to do with the protein in your diet. There are pills you can take to help with smelly gas, but I mostly just use poopouri and it does the trick -
I was cleared for exercise at 2 weeks, but told to wait 2 more to start doing any lifting. I go to the gym three days a week, and do a lot of walking on my college campus.

@@Wonder Woman NJ yeah, beef came after fish for me. I tolerate it better than shredded chicken because it's a little more moist. Every plan is SO different. I did the same thing you're doing when I was in puréed foods. Just a little bit blended into other stuff.

Soft foods has been fun. I eat eggs with cheese, shrimp, lean ground beef with tomato sauce, tuna sashimi, lots of black beans etc. Your options are wide open! Just be sure to try one food at a time and see how you tolerate it. I did deli meat too. Turkey with a tiny bit of mustard rolled up was really good.

I'm really open with people about my surgery. I don't think it's fair for people to think I'm dropping weight this fast because I'm eating right and exercising. I know that when I was bigger, and people told me that, I always wondered why it never worked for me and got discouraged. I try to use my surgery as a way to build people up, ya know? I definitely understand keeping it private though. I don't post about it on Facebook, or at least I haven't yet, but when people ask I tell them.

Hi all! So, I'm curious. Is the three week stall a real thing, or am I just doing something wrong? I just hit week four today, and the scale hasn't moved more than a pound (up and down) since last Tuesday. I'm kind of concerned, and wondering if other people have experienced this too.
-
Thank you guys for the support! I started back with exercise, and the stall has ended! I lost 3 pounds last week

I wanna know about carbs... Seriously!
Kaylamh replied to KindaFamiliar's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I think when a lot of people refer to "carbs" they're talking about simple carbs. Bread, pasta, rice etc. Those are the ones that we can definitely live without. Complex carbs are more important, and these come from vegetables and actually provide longer last fuel then simple carbs. The same can be said for brown rice over white, and whole grain bread over white bread.
