savyourdvine1 replied to marissahealthiernewme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you've been cleared you should be okay. However, there are risk doing this surgery. I read and viewed sucesses as well as issues dealing with this surgery. I needed to face reality in all areas. Ultimately, I made the decision to do it because of health issues. 3 wks out. Be wise Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App -

I find it very interesting how different Dr. allow different foods at different phases. I'm 3 weeks out (second phase). I'll be on phase 2 for the next 4 weeks. I'm on mushy food only. I guess it's all okay considering I had foot surgery two wks prior to my sleeve surgery, so I can't walk pounds off. I'm currently down 30 pounds. Pb& J not for a long time. Friction with my best friend
savyourdvine1 replied to gonefromhere's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We all have issues others have to deal with. Especially close friends and family. I would think the value of the friendship should outway the irritation she's causing you. I would definitely not let my friend go over her own insecurities. Like a previous person stated..... Talk to her and share your heart. If she walk away from you, then that's her lost. Dry skin...lotions?
savyourdvine1 replied to MadelynRox's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
From the knowledge I've been given.... the body should work from the inside out, with help from the outside when needed. If your skin doesn't respond to Water (that naturally hydrates the skin) I would look more into something natural to put on the skin. I have nothing against lotion, but most are more a cover up than a fix. Google .... What's natural to hydrate my skin. Or something in that arena. You'll be surprised of the information you'll receive Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App -
Dry skin...lotions?
savyourdvine1 replied to MadelynRox's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Drink more fluids. If it's not normal for you to have dry skin then dehydration trying to set in could be the culprit. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App -
I just can't do Water down anything. My hats off to those who can. Soooo I took very small sips to were it barely wet my tongue. I only poured an ounce, but drank less then a half of that. It satisfied me just to taste it. Now over the craving. Gastric sleeve 12-15 Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

Drinking alcohol with band
savyourdvine1 replied to madison.alvarez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a question have you asked your Dr. ? If not please do.... Our bodies responds different to the surgery. So you are running a high risk asking people that took the risk. And that is exactly what they took "a risk" The thing about taking risk is when you have "major" surgery the damage may not show up until months or even years later as a leak. ALL Because you took risk and did not let your stomach heal properly. A leak seem to be a very difficult and painful repair process, if in fact you live through it. Be safe and be wise. Orientation to surgery
savyourdvine1 replied to angelbug187's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
My thing is..... I researched and studied the gastric sleeve and bypass for over a year. I'm still somewhat struggeling with my sleeve. I somewhat wished I had an oppertunity to go to the classes. So please don't rush it. My stomach has complete control. I just have to figure out what it will and won't tolerate. I don't want to dump. So I don't push it. When it shut down on something... I have to figure what else to give it. Unlike pre-mixed Protein shakes, after three weeks of it my stomach shut down right into my 1st week post op. I can't even stand to look at any protein mixes without getting nauseous. I'm now eating soft foods... I mix in non flavored protein powders and now I'm getting protein from my foods as well as the non flavored Protein powder. That seem to be working. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App -
Orientation to surgery
savyourdvine1 replied to angelbug187's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals

The rest of requirements was from my Dr. Non the less..... right at 3 mo. Start to finished. 4wks post op Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App -

I DONT KNOW HOW TO APPROACH THIS
savyourdvine1 replied to midgelovescookies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is not about him but you your health. You do what you need to do. I personally wouldn't drop him because he don't agree. But neither would I not get the surgery do to that reason either. If after the surgery he still won't support you, then find someone that will. A family member or someone that will help you through your journey. Except your friend make it very difficult for you let him hang around until he jump on board or leave. Either way you win! He may be afraid something could go wrong. So don't just assume he don't want you to do it because he's haten on you. Be wise and be well! Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App -
Wow I'm going to pray for your situation..... that's just a bit too much. As much as I prefer not to eat can food.... you may have to resort to that. Whatever is going on in your life had to be there before the surgery. You really need to stand up and love yourself enough to take charge of your own life. People are going to do whatever they want to you as long as you let them. The problems your dealing with didn't start over night nor will they end that way. Sound like you all may need to seek some counseling. If she refuses to go, then go on your own. There are Pastors. Ministers and others that are close in your area, that can help and support you. Don't let anyone control you. People need bounderies. Bounderies helps people to know what you will and will not tolerate. Save yourself and seek counseling. Lapband / Gastric Bypass
savyourdvine1 replied to journey2befit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
People are coming against the band because of the horror and regain stories, and because Dr. and some diet clinic won't even do them. The clinic that did my sleeve only take the bands out. I'm 3 wks post op and I wouldn't do this again. In fact I wouldn't do any of the weight lost surgeries again. That's not to discourage anyone. Our body reacts different to all the surgeries. I happen not to like the way mines responded. I can't change what I did so I have to press on from this place and make the best of it. I'LL eat healthy so I can stay out of the hospital and off meds. That was the main reason why I did it.... I hate meds. One more thing.... My Dr. said the reason why the bands needs to be revised is because your body eventually sees it as part of the body and your stomach skin grows around it. I couldn't fantom that. To each it's on. More than taking away 80 percent of my stomach, is the concern about what's left (sleeve) leaking. Make your choices based on your ability to dicipline yourself and follow the directions. Please believe this is not the easy way to get the weight off.... just more of a lasting route, that is as long as you don't stretch your stomach out by over eating and finding yourself back where you started. When all is said and done "discipline" is the key to a successful weight loss journey. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
