Hi ladies! I was sleeved on 12/22/16 and my main reason was due to fertility issues. My husband and I had been trying to have a baby for a year and a half with no luck. I saw a fertility specialist and was tested for PCOS among other things and all came out normal but they did say it was my weight causing problems. I was on BC for 10 years (the pill where you only had a period once every 3 months), and when I came off it I went 5 months without a period. My cycles were all out of whack for a long time but the last few months prior to surgery I would have a period once every 6 weeks or so. I know that we are to wait at least a year before getting pregnant, but I'm just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience to mine? I'm hoping that my cycles will go back to normal and I'll be able to conceive without issues when it's time. Please let me know if you can relate and if your cycles regulated and if you got pregnant after the sleeve - how long after and how long did you try? Thanks in advance!

I had this same exact problem! I was sleeved on 12/22 and let me tell you it does get better! I was miserable at first and thought there was NO way I could ever get even close to my fluid requirements because of the pain I felt when drinking. I could feel fluids from the moment it hit my throat all the way down to my stomach, bubbling and gurgling. However, 8 days later and I don't have this problem anymore! I asked my surgeon about it and they said it's due to the swelling from the surgery. Hang in there, it does get better!

Pain in chest when drinking -4 days out
concertchick7 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, I'm new to the site and I was sleeved on 12/22. I'm having difficulty drinking fluids, when I take a drink of water or protein shake I can feel it in my chest, a bubbly gurgling pain. This only lasts for a few seconds, but I am getting this sensation with pretty much every sip I take and I feel like I can feel the liquids going down into my stomach. It also is painful in my chest when I burp. Could this still be gas? I've been walking periodically throughout the day, and yesterday started taking gas x, but was just wondering if this is normal? Hoping this is not something I will be dealing with long term, because it makes it difficult to want to sip all day. I also am curious if it may have to do with the fact that I haven't had a bowel movement in 5 days (I took colace last night and milk of magnesia today). Any advice one can give would be much appreciated!
