  1. Happy 31st Birthday nthomas!

  2. Happy 30th Birthday nthomas!

  3. I was so in and out of the hospital I didn't ask. Tomato soup wow you are lucky, I would die for some right now. I have been sipping water and juice and had a little broth, though yesterday I got bad when i was sipping about a 1/4 of broth. i knew not to sip anymore, but I'm not use to being at home and got bored so I had a couple more sips. BIG mistake. I felt horrible after that. Haven't had much today just a little cran apple juice and water. I think I'm going to go have a popsicle. I have tried to stay busy. Walking around. Went to work for a couple hours this morning. Nothing tiring though. But being around people distracted me from the uncomfortable feeling I was having. Can't wait til next week when I can have mashed potatoes and creamy soup. Ummmm. my Dr's office has a support group that will meet tomorrow, so I am going to go there. Should be interesting. Hope everyone is still doing well.:biggrin2:
  4. WOW how is everyone doing? I feel pretty good. Just remember the doctor telling me to breath and then waking up. Great!!!! I'm not it a lot of pain so that is good. Just pretty uncomfortable. Funny enough the uncomfort is not near my incisions. I'm so happy to have this done. Can't wait for the soup next week. I had a hard time burping. I got jealous right after I got my XRay the lady next to me let out a huge burp. It must have felt great. I haven't taken the pain meds yet, just had a little Childrens Motrin which I don't think did anything. Just help me sleep a little bit. Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well. Wishing you all a good recovery.
  5. Counting it down. Its 1030 and in 12 hours I am expected to be leaving teh hospital. I have to check in a 615 in the morning and then hopefully it will be quick. I have been so nervous this weekend. I have never broken a bone, never had stiches, never admitted to a hospital, so to know that I was going to be knocked out has scared the crap out of me. I'm about to go to bed now I just hope I can fall asleep. GOOD LUCK and congrats to MY St. Pattys Day Banders!!!! See you on the other side!!!
  6. Can you believe it when the weekend is over we will all be ready and we all know how fast weekends goes by!! Anybody having any dreams. I had a couple last night, just of how recovery might be. I have read too many blogs I think about different pain. One thing I did find helpful was about people talking about sleeping in a recliner, well that is definatly not for me so I ahve been sleeping on my back to get use to it. If you are not use to sleeping on your back try this. I put a large pillow directly under knees. It elevates my legs and I feel more comfortable. Most importantly, I stay in that position. Good LUCk to everyone, I have to be at the Drs office at 615 am so I getting excited, but nervous all at the same time.

    no insurance/lapband

I am going to be paying 15,000 as well and I definately do not consider my money a waste. All of my money includes everything including a year of post op. I've found about the same prices here in texas, but without the full year.I am choosing to put it on Credit Card, i got for for Citi bank at 0% for a year that only goes up to 9.9 after that. That is the same interest rate it would have been through the Drs office. They didn't approve me for the full amount so I just called and within 30 mins, they raised my credit limit. The Doctors office has different plans too, they have several plans that depend on how long you want the loan for. Remember one thing though if you do go self pay, you can claim it on your tax return. Good Luck!
  8. Mazie, I'm still young and have been told my skin shouldn't be a problem once I start losing the weight. I love to work out so I do plan on doing that. I'm a coach at a high school and my seasons are coming to an end so now I'll actually have the time to do it. And if I could lose 120 like yourself it would definatly be easier to work out. I was wondering if you have started to experience any problems with your skin. I saw you posted something on another thread, and to be honest I might have already posted something similar to you. Please let me know about the skin, it is truely my worst fear!
  9. COngrats Grace on meeting your goal weight. That is seriously awesome, and I'm sure you worked hard for it. Did you work out a lot? When were you banded? Do you have extra skin. That is my biggest fear
  10. Yeah!!! I'm a St Patty's Day Bander as well. Counting down the days. I'm having it done by Dr. Wright at Turning Point in San Antonio. Anyone else getting their's done there? I'm doing it over my spring break so I am hoping a should be fine to go back to work on the 24th. I went to the store and got my meds and just about everything I have seen listed in all the different posts. Hopefully I'm ready. I'm definatly ready to start on this new journey. Good Luck all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Hello all, I'm a March bander as well. March 17th, and I'm Irish so lucky me. Hope everything goes well for all of you. I am not having to do a liquid diet, but the Atkins instead. Eventhough I like most of the food you can only eat so much meat. My God I'm from Texas and I actually said that outloud. Good Luck to all those who are March Banders!!

    San Antonio Area Bandsters?

Don't know if anyone will check this since this posting was a while ago. I'm getting banded by Dr. Wright on the 17th, St Pattys Day, anyways, I was wondering how much trouble you guys had with the no carbs pre-op. I have been trying for the last couple weeks and overall I'm doing well, and have lost 10 lbs, but I worried it won't be enough.
