Would recommend at least a week off, two if you can. It's hard to imagine all the adjustments after surgery with proteins, liquids, and meds/supplements. Once gas pains subsided I was fine from surgery, but working on sip, sip, sipping and NO ENERGY can drag you down. But all are different. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using BariatricPal mobile app

Took me about 6 months after surgery to get my energy. Doc said this is normal and energy does kick in. I am 4.5 years out and everyone is different. Best wishes. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using BariatricPal mobile app

Protein vs Calories what's too much
catlady.2012 replied to Renea Glover's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was also told the body can only process 30 grams of Protein at a time, any excess is not absorbed and is wasted. The suggestion of 20 grams per meal is a good one. But contact your NUT if you have questions. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App -
@@Allyson, I also had and was told by my surgeon that the incision the excess stomach is pulled through is also tacked down internally to muscle and until stitches dissolve I will feel pulling and pain. But you should call your surgeon's office to make sure of problem. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

Protein shake
catlady.2012 replied to Bybass Dec 2016's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@bypass, EAS was on my approved list and one of the few shakes I could handle during my first month. But I wasn't meeting my daily Protein goals so I switched to Premier which has 30 grams of protein instead of 17. Four + years out and I still use Premier to supplement protein intake. Having no appetite still at 4 years presents nutritional difficulties. Wish there was a happy compromise. Having to almost force feed is certainly no fun. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
