Hello all, I had my lapband placed February 10, 2017 and I weighed in 228 at surgery and now I am 194. I am having a difficult time with the films and being tight. I went in for an unfill yesterday and it dropped me to 2.8cc and I am now constantly hungry. I feel so discouraged, I am not sure if the scale is right but I went up a pound. I am honestly thinking about getting a revision to sleeve. What do you all think? Please help.

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I had lapband surgery on the 10th of this month. My recovery is ok, I have not thrown up and I'm a little sore but I am starving and have a massive headache!! I don't know what to do. I feel like I've made the biggest mistake. I'm on a 7 day liquid diet and I'm constantly starving. I need suggestions or advice PLEASE!!!

That is exactly what he said. He felt that I would lose a large amount of weight in a short time considering I was only 228 when I first started. He is a bariatric surgeon but from what I recently found out, he barely does Lapband’s anymore since they are fading out. He did not tell me the complications (I’m now hearing more about them since I’m having issues). I researched the issues on my own and felt that I would be ok before I did the surgery, but I was wrong. I truly feel it was the wrong decision, but the only thing I can do now is deal with it until I can hopefully have a revision. He did inform me that patients lose much slower then the other surgeries and that is another reason why he pushed for the Lapband. I just want a restriction without throwing up constantly. I felt the 3ccs was good enough but then I started feeling it was too tight. I’ve heard people get up to 9ccs and I’m having issues at 3ccs☹️ I’m so sorry to hear that you had issues with the Lapband. I’ve been on this forum for a while and people keep mentioning issues. I’m so disappointed in myself because I should’ve researched a little more before settling. Please don’t be angry, your words definitely helped me and I know things will get better. I just hope I can get a fill before 4 weeks because I’m wanting to eat everything at this point. [emoji52]

It is very frustrating. The reason I chose the Lapband is because the doctor felt I was “not obese enough” to get a sleeve or the other surgeries and I truly felt that the Lapband would work. It has worked but I am slowly giving up. At this point, I’m still not a candidate for the sleeve and I would have to wait a little longer before I can even try to get a revision. What surgery did you have? That’s awesome that you’ve lost 100 pounds!! So happy for you! [emoji846]

Hello everyone, So lately my moods have been out of whack. I'm not sure if it's related to my lapband (I had it February 10th of this year) and I was recently talking to my boyfriend about the way I've been feeling lately (pain in chest, little vomiting). He completely disagrees with me having it and starts mentioning "that's why there's a gym, why couldn't you do it naturally" Honestly, that put me in the worst mood ever. I decided to do this surgery because nothing I did previously was working. Now I'm beginning to question myself, like what if there was something else I could have done... sorry, just venting [emoji53]

Hello everyone! I had my lapband put in February 10, 2017 and I have lost close to 25 pounds and now I've completely stalled. I had a fill last month and I finally experienced lapband tightness. I could not get water down, let alone food. I had two visits worth of fluid taken out due to the tightness last month and now I'm able to eat a little more. It's been so frustrating because my weight has gone up to 203. I know I have to be patient and it'll fluctuate but this is so discouraging. I'm going in for a fill this Thursday and I'm ready to see if I can get it taken out completely or get a revision. I don't know what to do. I'm so confused at this point.

Hello all, I had my third fill last month and I've gained 2 1/2 pounds since. Has anyone experienced depression after lapband surgery? Is all of this normal? I know it's not much that i gained but I'm beginning to feel so discouraged and upset. Sent from my SM-N910T using BariatricPal mobile app

I believe you're right because I am rushing and eating too fast. Thank you for that, I appreciate it. Good luck to you as well! Sent from my SM-N910T using BariatricPal mobile app

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I had my lap band put in February 10, 2017 and I've only had 3 fills (third one being a week ago). I've noticed now that when I eat a few bites, I'm having a severe pain in my chest. I feel like I'm about to collapse, but after a few burps, it goes away. What can this be?? I know I need to slow down but do I have a problem with my lapband?? Sent from my SM-N910T using BariatricPal mobile app

Hello all I had my second fill yesterday and i don't feel much of a restriction but I stop myself from eating because I'm scared to cause any problems. Also, how do I know if it's tight? I keep belching here and there. I had surgery February 10th and I'm down 19 pounds. Lastly, how do you know when you've hit the restriction spot? Sent from my SM-N910T using BariatricPal mobile app

Hello all, I've been having some pain for a couple days in my stomach and I went to the bariatric clinic but I was only able to see the Physician's Assistant. She told me that the only way to know what's going on is to take out my fluid and get an xray and I'd be without fluid for a few weeks. I was banded on 2/10/17 and I haven't had any vomiting or nausea. Can this be a lap band issue? Can they check to see if my bank is okay with a regular xray? It's so frustrating. Every little pain I have, I feel like it's my lapband. Sent from my SM-N910T using BariatricPal mobile app

Hello everyone, Two days ago, I woke up with excruciating pain in my stomach. No nausea or vomiting. I'm not sure if I was just constipated. I went in to see the Physicians assistant today and she said the only way to know what's going on is to take out all my fluid and then get an xray. I refused because she said I'd be without fluid for a few weeks. I dont understand why they can't do a simple xray. Could this be my lapband or just constipation? The pain has subsided since. I was banded on February 10th of this year. Sent from my SM-N910T using BariatricPal mobile app

Hello all, I was banded on February 10th. I have been feeling very run down lately, no energy, no motivation... I feel like sleeping all day but pushing myself not to. Has this happened to anyone?? I really don't know what's going on... just need some advice. I hope you're all doing well. Sent from my SM-N910T using BariatricPal mobile app

Hello everyone, I had Lapland surgery February 10th, had my first fill March 16 (1.5cc), I was feeling restriction in the beginning but now I'm able to eat a little more and not feeling much of a restriction. I only eat about twice a day, but I'm worried I damaged my pouch during the post op care (ate solids a little too soon). I don't have pain, no vomiting or nausea. I only lost about 1-2 pounds since the last fill. One day I'm 210, the next I'm 211.5, then back to 210 and today I'm 209.5. It's driving me crazy. Am I over thinking this? I'm going in for a second fill next week. Sent from my SM-N910T using BariatricPal mobile app

1st fill, hungry.

It keeps throwing me off and messing with my emotions lol. I had surgery February 10th and I've lost 16 pounds but now I'm at a complete standstill. I didn't listen to the after care too much and ended up eating solids a little too soon but my doctor said that was ok. I just don't know really know anymore... it's frustrating -
Hello everyone, I had my first fill on the 16th of this month and it was 1.5cc. At first I felt a huge amount of restriction but now I find myself being able to eat a little more. I'm mainly eating twice a day and healthy snacks in between. Is this normal or is something wrong? I go in for my next fill next month on the 12th.

1st fill, need to tell my doctor something
journey2befit posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone! How are you all doing? I hope all is well. I had my lap band put in February 10 and I haven't had any side effects... no vomiting, nausea. Just minimal pain in my shoulders if I eat a little fast and some pinching in my stomach here and there (i have am incisional hernia). I go in for my first fill tomorrow and I'm kind of scared. I ate solid foods a little sooner than what I was supposed to and I hope I haven't caused any damage that can potentially harm me in the future or cause a delay in getting a fill. I did not experience any difficulty when I did eat solid foods, but only the minor pain in my shoulders. I'm a little paranoid and wondering "what if" I did cause something to happen with the band. Also, I'm worried to tell my doctor and hope he won't be disappoint like I am with myself but what do you guys think I should do? Can he test me to see if everything is ok? Any advice would be great. Thank you -
1st fill, need to tell my doctor something
journey2befit replied to journey2befit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, The diarrhea went away fairly quickly. The only issue I am having now is that I am feeling more hungry and I am able to handle a little more food than before. I had a 1.5cc fill put in on March 16th and I'm going in for my second fill next month. I'm not sure if this is normal or something is wrong with my band. Thank you, Dr. Gail. -

Oh wow. Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one this is happening too lol. I feel like I can handle more food now and it's making me think something is wrong with my lapband..I wonder how much the second fill will be next month. -
Hello everyone! How are you doing? I'm trying to start meal prepping but what kind of meal prep containers do you recommend? Any advice would help! Thank you.

1st fill, need to tell my doctor something
journey2befit replied to journey2befit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told him everything and he said as long as I don't have pain, then I'm fine, which was a relief. He did fill my port but I am experiencing diarrhea now (sorry) and I don't know if that is related at all. Thank you very much for your encouraging words, I appreciate it. -

Hello, Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I went in for my first fill today and everything was okay. I told him the truth and he said it was completely fine. Also, I noticed what I thought to be a hernia but come to find out it was my port. He said it takes time for it to settle, but he filled it and made me drink a cup of water to make sure I can tolerate it and I was able to. I noticed now that I keep having to go to the bathroom (diarrhea, sorry). I don't know if that is related but it's killing me. Other than that, everything is fine. Thank you again. -
Hello everyone. How are you doing? I'm feeling a little discouraged and depressed. I had lapband surgery on February 10th. I went in at 226lbs and then dropped to 214lbs. I checked my weight today and I am 215.5lbs. Has anyone hit a plateau? I'm currently on soft foods, but I figured I'd be dropping more weight. I haven't even had my first fill yet. Has this happened to any of you? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what to do.

Seems like that's what I'm dealing with. I gained a pound since surgery. This is so discouraging, but hopefully it gets better when I have my first fill. -

Thank you so much. I haven't lost anymore weight and I'm seeing the doctor on the 16th. Hopefully once I get my fill, I'll start losing a little more.
