Surgery this Friday!! HELP!
journey2befit replied to journey2befit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That's exactly what I wish for them to do. Yes, you're definitely right...I am working with professionals. The nurse told the anestologist how terrified I am and he actually called to speak to me. My nerves have calmed down, but I'm still a little scared. Thank you so much. I appreciate your advice. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -

Oh wow! Im glad everything went well with you. I have always had a high heart rate but it has slowed down since I started taking heart medication. I'm trying my best to get some rest before tomorrow morning, but it's impossible. Thank you so much. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -

Surgery this Friday!! HELP!

The anesthesiologist found out how terrified I am and gave me a call earlier today. My nerves have calmed but I'm still a little worried. If only they can put me to sleep before going in lol Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing great. I'm having lapband surgery on February 10th. My nerves and anxiety are already kicking in because I've never been put to sleep before and I really do not know what to expect. How is it before going into surgery? How will I feel when I wake up? Do I have a breathing tube down my throat? Sorry, I'm all over the place...guess I'm really scared. Any information will be helpful. Thank you. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

I dropped almost 10 pounds in 2 weeks by sticking to a lean diet of 6x premier Protein shakes and 2 cups of vegetables a day. 2 tbsp Fat free dressing with those veggies, I usually made a salad. No carbs. I was allowed coffee with skim milk and artificial sweetener, also sugar free popsicles, etc. Sent from my Nexus 10 using the BariatricPal App That's great! Thank you so much for in the info. I've been eating chicken, a little bit of brown rice and veggies, along with Protein Shakes. It's been 5 days and I have yet to weigh myself. ???? Hello all, I am required to lose some weight before my lap band surgery on February 10th. I am struggling to lose the last 6 pounds. Does anyone recommend anything or detox that would help? I'd greatly appreciate it. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

Hello all, I am supposed to have Lapband surgery next month (waiting on cardiac clearance), but I am stuck between lapband and the gastric bypass (no final decision has been made as to which one I want yet). Initially, I was aiming for the bypass, but changed my mind because of the drastic weight loss it causes. I am currently 222lbs with hypertension and I am wondering how much of a drastic change it would be if I considered doing the bypass as oppose to the band? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

Hello all, How is everyone doing? My lapband surgery is scheduled for February 10th and I'm really nervous and scared. I was thinking of switching to the bypass, but it may be too late to do that since it's been approved already. I'm going to get off topic, but has anyone experienced any negativity from friends, significant others, family about bariatric surgery? That's all I've been hearing from everyone and it's so annoying. My boyfriend, well now ex (as of today) broke up with me because of it. I hope I can succeed through this because I feel like I don't have any support whatsoever. I hope you all are doing great. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

Lapband / Gastric Bypass
journey2befit replied to journey2befit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is amazing! Great job! I agree, it's definitely not a quick fix, but I feel somewhat more comfortable with the lapband then the other procedures. Also, there are horror stories that are terrifying me, so I am so stuck between all of them. I feel I would have more control of the lapband though. I hope you had a nice new year. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App So great to hear that. Thank you so much for the feedback. I hope you had a great new year. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App I personally know people who have had lapband surgery over 10 years without issue. Every surgery has the possibility of issues that are related to having any type of surgery. Someone who develops scar tissue and the band sticks to the liver or stomach would have the issue with scar tissue with any surgery. Each body responds differently to surgery, and their appendix removal surgery can cause the same issue. Banded 10/12/16 That is very interesting. Thank you so much for the information. I hope you had a great new year. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Lapband / Gastric Bypass
journey2befit replied to journey2befit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope you had a great new year. Yes, I do agree with you. I feel the weight is more controlled with the lap and as oppose to dropping dramatically with the bypass. I'm still stuck between the two. I meet with the nutritionist/psychologist this week, so I'll see what happens. Thank you so much for your feedback! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App Hello, Yes I have heard of people having it removed/replaced. Definitely weighing the pros and cons. I hope you had a great new year. Lapband / Gastric Bypass
journey2befit replied to journey2befit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, I hope you had a great new year. I have spoke to my surgeon and he suggested I get the bypass, but I feel like I will lack much nutrition and the band is more controlled. He also did tell me it is being more phased out. I'm still researching and weighing the pros and cons. Thank you so much for all of the feedback. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App How are you doing with the bypass? I hope you had a great new year! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Lapband / Gastric Bypass
journey2befit replied to journey2befit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope you had a great new year. The surgeon is suggesting I do the bypass, but I am afraid of having most of my stomach stapled and lack nutrition as well, but they said it is entirely up to me (weird). I meet with my nutritionist/psychologist this week. So we will see what happens. Thank you so much for your feedback. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Lapband / Gastric Bypass
journey2befit replied to journey2befit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lap band has many possible complications, if there is a choice to be made choose between bypass and sleeve not the band. Bypass is for someone looking to loose 100 lbs and sleeve if you are looking to loose 60 or 80. Sent from my SM-G550T using the BariatricPal App Thank you so much. I hope you had a good new year. Hello everyone! I am new to this and I'm in the process of completing all of my testing (blood work, cardiology clearance, psychological interview, nutritionist) for the Lapband. If all goes well, I will have a date set for January 2017. I am a little nervous because I've never been put to sleep before nor have I had surgery. How is it when people wake up from the procedure? Is the pain minimal and is there a large drop of weight the first month? Any advice would be so appreciated! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

Merry Christmas! You seemed to have handled it well I assume. I hope I'm the same way. I just wish my Cardiologist would clear me already. Wow, 35 pounds already! That is so amazing!! Keep up the great work! Thank you sooooo much for all the information, I really appreciate it. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
