You really don't want open. It's an 8-10" scar versus 5 very small incision, a slower recovery, higher risk of infection, higher risk of hernias. Just follow your surgeon's instructions. Think of it as success training for the rest of your life. The phrase and thinking "it's not that bad" is a slippery slope! 16 pounds is awesome. Keep going!
