So true Dee. I think this also helps us in our journey to experiment with foods. Each body is different, each jirney different. [emoji4] Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BariatricPal mobile app

One thing I am finding interesting is how different the protocols are between different doctors. Some say no coffee, no caffeine some say it's ok. Some no catheter or drain, some get both. I had a 1 night say but my niece had 3. Some people begin having to shovel down protein drinks in the first day, some gradually ease into the shakes. I just find it interesting that we have the exact same type of surgery but different protocols. Don't ya'll? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BariatricPal mobile app

Old clothes? What did you do?
K_aane replied to AZBlackhawk's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
There is a site called thred up. If you have some really nice clothes you can sell them there. Also look for the battered women shelter in your community. Most of those women leave abusive relationships with the clothes on their backs. Also see if your community looks for donations for clothes for women entering the work force through a welfare program. Salvation army gives donated items to people in need where as goodwill they must buy the items. The welfare to work program also needs men's clothing and suits. That is a neat calendar! I didn't have to do but 1 day of liquid diet before surgery. Just that 1 say was hard enough! I applaud your determination! !! We are all fighters here. Fighting to regain our healthy and mobility. We will stay strong and endure. You can do it!! Having those events to look forward to really help. I am going to be 58 in November and I want a pair of cowboy boots! I have not worn boots in 15+ years. I am also going to see my sisters for Christmas (they live in Las Vegas) I hope to blow them away when I come off the plane!!!. I will be playing "Mustang sally" as I do my Sandra Bullock walk from miss congeniality!! Hey Kate! Yeah I hear ya. Those darn hernias are a pain. I am feeling good this morning, did some hall walking last night. Hardly no gas pain. I am waiting to see the doc. I usually take fluid pills and I am beginning to swell with all the fluid pumping in me. So they checking to see if I can have a tiny bit. Hope everyone is doing great ! Thanks so much for the well wishes! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BariatricPal mobile app

Hey my July peeps! I am doing good! I been walking and drinking sips. Got out of surgery and in room at 11:00am. Doc said I had a lot of scarring from my previous surgeries and some herinas. We will fix them after a drop 60lbs. Hoping to make that by end of the year. I am surprised how good I feel. No drain. No catheter and just started liquid loratab. Hope all of you are doing well. We all sitting on the losers bench, ,!!! Ya,hoooooooo!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BariatricPal mobile app

Tomorrow is surgery day!!!!! Have to be at the hospital at 6 and surgery is for 7. I am excited but calm. I am at peace knowing God brought me to this and He will bring me through it. I started on January 24, 2017 , that first appt that made 6 mo seem so far away...... This forum has been such a blessing. Everyone here always ready to give support, encouragement and advice. I am on my way to the losers bench and will check in when I can. On July 21, 2017 I will be giving birth to the bellydancer who lives inside me. I am so excited to watch her grow smaller and dance and move with grace and ease as I have watched so many times in my mind. I have always danced but my health declined and my weight have made it nearly impossible in the past 6 yrs. Keep a spot warm for me....here I come!!!!! Diet sodas are poison and can be difficult to give up. Educate yourself on what is in diet soda. Then you can begin to change how you view it and get away from it. Just search diet soda and aspartame dangers. And while you are researching, use a can of soda to clean your toilet. It does wonders like Ajax cleanser. Do you really want to drink something you can clean a toilet with????? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BariatricPal mobile app

Your post is exactly why I struggled but kept my mouth shut! My surgery is on 7-21. My husband, my niece (who had the surgery last summer) and a friend whom I volunteer with in a health related support group unrelated to weight loss are the only people who know. I have told no one in my family, not even my two sisters whom I am very close too. On occasions in this 6 mo process I have broke down in tears over the fact that I cannot tell those closest to me because of the fear of the negativity which I do not want to take in the operating room with me Friday morning. But I cried it out and moved on. I cling to my husband and my niece who give me all the positive energy I need. Does it sadden me that I cannot share this wonderful journey to regain my health? Yeah it does. ....but keeping this secret right now is better for me mentally. After, well, who knows it just might be.,"yes I had wls, what's it to you, do you know what was like for me to live in my body on a daily basis? No you don't so ef you". Time will tell, but right now it's me who is walking thru the ring of fire and I am doing it with God and my hubby by my side .....bring it on baby, burn baby burn,,,I am ready and coming out the other side reborn!!!! Advice : don't talk anymore about it and change the subject when they bring it up. If you have a supporter, talk to them, otherwise talk to us. Feel free to message me. I will keep you positive like many here have done for me. Hold your head up high and get ready for battle. The battle to regain your health!!! You can do it! !!!!
