goldenbarbie replied to goldenbarbie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes exactly! Honestly I was under the impression I wouldn’t be able to drink again but I had a doctors visit recently and he said I can have wine but try not to drink it too often as I’m doing well with my progress. I was worried I wouldnt be able to drive also but I was fine and What’s RNY?? -

POST-OP within 8 to 12 weeks: What are / were the healthy foods you're looking forward to eating again post-op?
goldenbarbie replied to michaeli's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I first got sleeved I was just happy that egg whites stayed down! Lol when I was able to actually tolerate more foods I was happy that I could have chicken grilled or baked very soft and I never liked seafood before surgery.... now grilled salmon is my bestfriend. High in protein and very healthy! -
Do you miss being overweight?
goldenbarbie replied to Marissa37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL! I don’t miss being obese, I miss being able to eat whatever I want and whenever I want. Still wouldn’t reverse this surgery for the world. I love being able to walk into any clothing store and try things on, I love getting complimented EVERY TIME I leave the house, I love getting hit on by guys when I go to a restaurant, bar or even the gym. I love that my family is happy for me. I love that I am now healthy. -
Stomach streatched please help me
goldenbarbie replied to Cindy757's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m over a year post opp and I still can’t eat a whole tuna sandwich on simple sandwich bread. Either your stomach swelling went down already or you are eating too fast. Keep in mind that you got surgery to lose weight and become healthy. Drink water an hour before your meal. Chew slower. Don’t watch tv or be distracted, focus on the food so you can see how much and what you are eating. Also watch portions. Next time make the sandwich and only put half on your plate wrap the rest up for later -
[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] I literally laughed at the “drinking my disgusting protein shakes” Hahahaha this was so me when I first got sleeved, ironically enough you may just have Head hunger. When you can officially eat solid foods you might not feel like that anymore, I didn’t. Good luck [emoji4]

Yay that’s so awesome to hear!!!! Can’t wait to see you reach 199 [emoji7] -
It’s ok! I had serious dehydration problems when I first got sleeved. Try to on small ice chips. Try and stay hydrated and if you can’t, go to ER and they will give you ivy. Make sure to let your doctor know this issue at your 1 or 2 week follow up

Don’t worry we’ve all been there!!!! Make sure your not trying to eat too early. Guideline or not if YOUR body isn’t ready for soft foods don’t eat it. Stick with liquids a little longer. Good luck!!! [emoji4]

Wow awesome! I’m 14 months post opp. I still struggle with getting in simple water and protein. Did you have any of those problems? If so how did you over come

Post Op Sleeve Day 6 RAMEN NOODLES PACKETS
goldenbarbie replied to deezy16's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No! Remember you got this surgery to become healthy. Don’t worry the time will come when you can choose to even eat ramen itself! Don’t risk messing up your process. These next 12 months will be crucial, try and lose as much weight as possible as it will slow down after. Good luck!!!! You got this [emoji4] -
Runny nose, sneezing, burping after eating...
goldenbarbie replied to nprcowboy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m 14 months post opp and I still burp a lot after I eat. Now I think it’s just a bad habit [emoji81][emoji30] -
I was in hospital for 2 nights, so when I got home after surgery and started seeing commercials on tv I was craving everything. From wings and pizza to ice cream and cake. Honestly I think the head hunger was only there because I couldn’t eat and barely sip water. When I got to my soft foods stage which took much longer than expected (month 3) I didn’t even think about bad foods twice cause I know I couldn’t eat it or I’ll get sick AND because I lost so much weight already I didn’t want to slow down the progress Coping wise I just kept telling myself this is all temporary. I will be able to eat again soon and honestly now that I am able to eat anything I don’t look twice at those types of food. You’ll see with your sleeve how your body reacts to certain things. It will go away soon!!!! Stay strong [emoji4]

No restrictions, I could’ve ate anything once I got pass the very soft foods stage. But as tempting as it will seem try not to eat the carbs as much or at all because when you reach your 1 year the weight loss slows down completely. I’m 14 months out and I wish I didn’t eat carbs till closer to my 1 year. I started eating carbs early [emoji30] wish I didn’t [emoji30] could’ve lost more weight but I’m still happy !!

9 MONTHS POST OP- A REALIST VIEW OF THE JOURNEY
goldenbarbie replied to a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Loved this and can’t believe I actually read the whole thing haha maybe because I can relate. I was sleeved 14 months ago and my journey was also a rocky one. Couldn’t eat and had dehydration problems for 2 months. Lost an unhealthy 52 pounds so early. Eventually I was off Ivy’s and was able to sip and get my own water in. Had problems eating, throwing up, feeling nauseous until about month 6, or 7. Even now I am still very careful with what I chose to eat. Unfortunately I can eat Doritos and other snacks like it’s nothing, but it’s just something I have to really work on. My biggest struggle even now is getting protein in but I will never regret getting my sleeve!! -
Surgery in the morning!!
goldenbarbie replied to sleeve21418's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don’t be nervous!!! I remember feeling like that also. But don’t worry your doctor will make sure everything will be fine. You will be asleep before you know it and wake up with a new stomach. Good luck with your journey!!!! Just remember to try and walk when the nurses ask you to or on your own with permission, also water sip sip sip -
Don’t be nervous! Everything will be fine and your journey to a new life will begin. I was sleeved over a year ago. Best decision I ever made. Good luck!!! [emoji176]

Hi, I’m 13 months post opp. My weight has been up and down lately and I gained nearly 10 pounds. How can I stop this from increasing? I haven’t done anything diet change wise so I’m not sure why this is happening and I’m starting to get worried [emoji30] Should I go to the gym more? I already go 3/4 times a week. Completely cut out carbs? Any helpful ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. I was thinking about calling my doctor and asking him what to do, he’s a little mean so I’m trying to avoid telling him bad news at all cost
