Had a glass of ice tea....
Egank895 replied to 2cute!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
just to let you know by doctor puts no restriction on caffeine just on soda or anything carbonated. I liven on ice tea for the 2 weeks after my surgery it was the only thing i could tolerate. I drink it once a week now and have not had any problems with it. -
I am not an addict but i can offer you some advise as a drug an alcohol counselor, in my opinion you need to detox and although you said you do not want to go back to rehab it may be the best choice for you. If you decide that you do not want to go back to rehab after detox you need to get right back into AA you don't need a sponsor to go and sit in a meeting and just listen. I agree that you seem to be hiding behind excuses, I know that this is very hard but you have done it before so you can do it again! If you need any advice or someone to vent to feel free to private message me!

I went for my first fill about two weeks ago and my doctor couldn't locate my band so he scheduled me for a fluoroscopic fill and when I went today for it he discovered that my port has flipped and is floating around. I was upset but now have calmed and would just like to know everyone else's experience with getting there band reattached because i really hope the recovery is easier than the surgery. Thanks for any information that can be offered !

i have 4 friends who started off at Albany and only one ended up having his surgery there(three others went to Ellis) and ended up having his band removed the same day he had it. I was told the staff and doctors were unprofessional and rude. My experience with Ellis was fantastic they have an amazing program with staff who will bend over backwards for you and my doctor who is the new doctor on staff there Dr.Panamaglore was amazing he made me feel so comfortable and at ease and i trusted him 100%. Obviously this is your surgery and you should feel comfortable wherever you go but just wanted to tell you what i have heard about Albany med's program.

not trying to scare you but i have heard awful things about Albany med, did you consider Ellis I got my surgery done there and all the doctors there are WONDERFUL!!! Good luck with everything!!

Egank895 replied to Hope4K's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on May 7th and i felt the SAME way!! Every time they said something about a living will i would freak out, when i went in the day of surgery I started crying and didn't know if i wanted to do it anymore but they gave me some happy meds and the next thing i knew i was awake and starting my journey! You will all be fine, don't let your nerves get in the way of your new life that you DESERVE!!! Good luck to you all:thumbup: -
Day 3 is here and i finally ate some soup today and i feel pretty good, still sore but the gas pains in my shoulder are pretty much completely gone which is a relief. I am drinking lots of fluids trying to stay hydrated but it is difficult because i feel so full so fast its crazy!! Hope everyone else is doing well today and good luck to those people whose surgery's are approaching!!

Got banded today May7th @ Ellis Hospital in NY, i had slight complications my blood vessels were large so they had to move the band down farther than they thought they would so the surgery ended up taking close to 3 hours but everythings else went fine. I have been pretty sore but the most pain that i've had is the gas pains in the shoulder it's AWFUL lol but its starting to subsibe so i'm feeling better. I do have a question from anyone thats banded now if they got slightly winded walking around and if you were kinda flemmy in the throat and a little horse. Thanks for everyone who prayed and all the well wished from everyone!

Thanks so much and good luck on the 27th i'm sure you'll do great!!

Hope everyone else is doing well i'll make sure to update tomorrow to let everyone know how its going! Well April 25th is fastly approaching and i am both excited and scared, excited to start a new chapter in my life but scared of the actual surgery. I have only been put under anesthesia once in my life when i was about 4 years old to get my tonsils out and i don't even remember it. I am required to have a 1 month medifast diet before my surgery and i am currently in week 2 of that and its KILLLLING me i have slightly cheated but nothing like in the past and i have lost a total of 11lbs which feels so good! When i went to my doctors appt on Wednesday(at that point i had lost 7lbs) to get weighed in the nurse told me it was not enough and i needed to do better i was in TOTAL shock i mean come on i have never lost that much weight in a week and i was soo proud of myself and she just bashed me down. She them stated i needed to kick it in gear so they don't reschedule my surgery, i told my friends who have had weight loss surgery this and they both said she was crazy and that i was doing a great job. The doctor gave me one month to loose 26lbs on medifast which is possible if you have ONLY shakes for 4 weeks but i get extremely sick on the shakes if i just eat those so i substitutes 3 shakes for 1 meal a day (a VERY low cal meal). I guess i am just tired of doing this and this waiting game i want my surgery and i want it now hahahaha even though i am scared i know i have my angel with me (my grandfather) who will protect me! Thanks for listening and comments are more than welcome:smile: Kayla
