Hi fellow 12/13 sleevers. How is everyone doing?

Vitamin D = the Sunshine pill. It really does help.

My surgery was last December. I was on a five day clear liquid diet. That was hard. About a week after surgery I was put on protein drink. Because of diabetes I was drinking glucerna, but I've long switched to the Atkins. 15 grams of protein and only one carb per shake. I still drink one when I'm running late in the morning or sometimes as a small meal replacement. My A1C level has dropped to normal (which was the number one reason for getting the surgery). I would really take a look at the sugar content of anything you drink. If the carb number is greater than the protein, I'd look for something different.

Hi everyone. From what I'm reading, the stall is normal. I was down 21 lbs on 01/02/17, but on 01/09/17, I went down only a pound. I'm still on puréed foods until tomorrow. The Protein shakes that I liked in the beginning are now making me nauseous. And so is the Water, but I still drink it with crystal light. My doctor and dietician say the artificial sweetener in it is ok, but I'm wondering if they're wrong. I've never heard good things about it. Does anyone have any good soft food ideas? I, too, use the GENEPRO unflavored protein. Mix it into puréed foods. Just wondering, has anyone felt any pain in different parts of their body after losing the weight? Woke up on Sunday with my back and thighs hurting so bad that I don't think I sleep more than three hours total each night. I thought it might be Sciatica, but the pain does travel down the legs. Just stay mostly around the hips, lower back and upper thighs. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Hi. I had mine on 12/13 also. What an experience this has been so far. Three night stay in the hospital, 90% of the time with a really bad headache until they gave me Imitrex. Finally, some relief. Went home and have been really good on my liquid intake. What has helped a lot is an iWatch that my hubby got me. I can actually set alarms for every 15 mins. It goes off to remind me to drink. Came in very handy. My next phase is purified foods. I've been researching what I can eat (slurp), and it's making me scratch my head. I could have started today, but I don't know where to start. Puréed Proteins doesn't sound good at all. My surgery took over a year before coming to fruition. I have to say I didn't have much of a choice with my unmanageable diabetes and weight. Didn't want to die young like my paternal relatives. So far so good on my A1C levels and weight. Wish you all the best. I'll be cheering you on! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
