6 Month Diet before the surgery prep diet
DreaMunoz replied to ItsTime4Change2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I won't find out the time until the day before the surgery. Hoping for early! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I'm asked to be there at 5:30 and surgery will be at 7. The earlier the better (because of the fast). Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using the BariatricPal App That's great! I hope I have something similar!! I wish I knew the time already!! 6 Month Diet before the surgery prep diet

I had to do 6 months of weight management. My hospital has a really good program where u go to nutrition classes once a month. I lost 30 pounds during the 6 months with little to no exercise. Basically what they taught was to focus on 2-3 changes a month. Their philosophy was to make life long changes and not to be on a crash diet. So that's what I did, every month I would cut out or work on 2-3 things and I never felt overwhelmed. Some of the things they wanted us to work on/change is: No soda/juice, all drinks should be sugar free No fried foods Eating 3 meals a day with a Protein in each meal 1/2 cup carbs at meal and no more(corn is a carb!!) Increase fruit and veggie intake 2 Snacks a day if needed, should be 100 calories or less and less than 9g sugar Not eating while watching tv or on ur phone, they call it mindless eating and u tend to keep eating without realizing or enjoying it Chewing ur food 25 times...seems odd, but it helps with digestion, also helps u eat slower which helps u recognize when ur full and not over eat Proper plating(1/2 veggies 1/4 protein 1/4 carb) There were some other things too, if I can find the handouts I will post. Hi all, So I am on day one of high Protein pre-op diet. Surgery is scheduled for Jan 17th!!! I have a strawberries and cream Protein powder from Isopure that is horrible!!!! Does anyone have any protein powder recommendations? I can't drink this for the next two weeks. I have chocolate as well and will try that one when I get home from work. Hope that the chocolate is better!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

It's interesting how each doctor seems to be different. I had to go on my pre-op diet 14 days before. My surgery is the 17th so I am on day 6. I have 2 Protein shakes and 1 high protein, low fat, low carb meal. If I feel hungry at night, I am allowed another shake, so far I have only needed the evening shake once. I have been having dinner be my actual meal and it feels like a reward at the end of the day! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How was the chocolate Isopure? I found out that my surgery will be at 11am on 1/17. Getting really anxious now! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App It was actually Cookies and cream that I ordered. I thought it was chocolate. The cookies and cream tasted better than the strawberry but still not good. I get this powder smell when I drink it, it's really hard to explain. But I think it's the smell more than the taste that is bothering me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

My doctor doesn't want us using the pre-mixed for some reason...they explained why but I don't remember their reasoning. Right now I have the Isopure no carb strawberry and Dutch chocolate. Hoping the chocolate is better. If not I will be heading to Vitamin shoppe to check out Quest. I wish I only had one week of pre-op diet. I have to do 2 weeks, with 3 shakes a day and 1 meal. I'm reeeeealllllly hungry right now lol! I will not receive the time for my surgery until the day before. It's frustrating that is how they do it. U are lucky to find out ur time so soon! We are almost there!!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
