Save yourself about$7000 and go to Mexico. You are treated great, very kind and respectful by all the staff at Obesity Control Center. Dr. Ortiz did my surgery on 4/7/08 and went back for my first fill on 5/16/08. I was given the cell phone numbers of all my doctors. You are really treated good. And you don't have to jump through all the hoops you do in the states. I will be having my 2nd fill in Tn. 6/17/08. Check out lapbandforum.com for your info on this. $7000. can more than pay for your transportation and a lot of new clothes you're going to need!

Can you tell me your experience of having a fill without fluroscopy? How did you know how much to fill? How does the Dr. know how much to fill? What did it feel like as your band was tightened? I have had 1 fill and I know it's time for another. I can still eat any amount I want and what ever I want. I don't want to have a 2nd fill to just have to return for another real soon because they didn't fill enough. I live in nw Al. and looking for a good fill dr. near by, well within a few hours drive anyway. Any suggestions? reneej

THis is exactly why I went to Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana. I was not about to jump thru all those hoops for some cock-eyed Dr. in the US to keep me coming and spending more and more money. :wub: I can't believe you went thru all that. FIND YOU ANOTHER DR. TODAY. AND GOOD RIDENCE ON THE OTHER QUACK.:w00t: I call the Obesity Control Center off their website and spoke to Carolyn, a patient coordinator on 3/10/08 and had to lose 10# preop and was banded on 4/7/08. I live in NW Al. I am looking for a Dr close to me that will do a fill. I was banded in Tijuana by Dr. Ortiz and have had 1 fill (1.8cc). All the local Drs. (with in 2 hours drive) are either such jerks :thumbup: because I didn't use them or they want to overcharge me to the point they should be embarrassed. :tt2: Has anyone ever used Dr. Westmoreland in Murphressboro, Tn? thanks for your input

thanks Laura, sorry about the spelling on your city. what can you tell me about your experience? how many fills have you had? when did you know you needed another one? how much were your fills? who did your fills? and did they use a fluroscopy? how did they know how much to fill you if they didn't. what did they charge you for your surgery and your fills? I have had my fill for 2 weeks today and I haven't lost any more weight, I can till eat what ever and as much as ever if I liked, as long as I eat slow and chew things up really good.:thumbup: thanks, reneej

Hey TX, sounds like major gas pains. try gas-x strips and do a lot of walking and try to hold your arms above your head when you walk. you've got to get that gas moving and hopefully out, it can be very painful. i was banded on mon also, but no major gas issues. i was banded in mexico and some of the other girls had some of those pains you speak of. hope this helps. :thumbup:

I am planning on being banded by dr. ortiz april 7, carolyn w/ ortiz looked up a dr. lord in pensacola fl. she said he would do fills. I spoke to his office today, they didn't sound like they were too interested in doing it. one girl there said you had to have been banded a year before he would see you. Someone was supposed to call me back, but they haven't.
