This surgery was the best decision I've ever made for myself ♡ Photo one was of me on our annual cruise last year around June (not even my highest weight). Other photo was about a month ago (3 1/2 months post op). We will be on our cruise again on the 28th & I look forward to not having to shy away from photos now. I feel better and am about 80 lbs down. The surgery is awesome if you work and respect it for what it is. Keep going guys ♡♡♡ Sent from my SM-N920P using BariatricPal mobile app

I am about 3 weeks out and am beginning to feel depressed. I've never felt depressed before. Anyone else feel like they are not themselves anymore? Maybe hormones are out of control. I am never hungry and it is a huge burden to make myself eat anything because I am NOT hungry. I hope this passes. It is not easy to fake happiness and playfulness while being a full time work at home mom. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App

Very well said FrankiesGirl. Thank you. So far sadness is the only feeling I have come across and it (luckily) isn't normal for me. Thanks for replying Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App

That's what i suspected. I've also been on an almost 5 week long "time of the month". I just want the hormones to go back to normal. In time i guess. In time Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App

HELP! Freaking out - need honest feedback
Amy'ssleeve replied to minervaxx6's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My pain was bad enough to go back to the ER the evening i was released. My doctor only sent me home with Tylenol (which I think is total crap). I was pretty mad that he expected tylenol to help enough. Anyway, it passes. You can do it. You might be one of the luckies. Make aure you get sent home with decent pain meds Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App -

Hello guys! I am 3 weeks post op VSG as of tomorrow morning. I have yet to feel the slightest feeling that even resembles hunger. As a matter of fact I pretty much have a total aversion to all food. I manage to sip two premier Protein shakes (total 60 G protein) throughout the day each day. I manage to get enought Water (has to have crystal light in it) each day too. I almosy constantly feel nauseated (new feeling as of this week). I have VERY low energy and have now been on my time of the month for 5 weeks. It started the day I began my 2 week pre-op full liquid diet and has continued to get heavier and more painful throughout the 5 weeks. Has anyone else experience this? I am down 36 lbs @ 3 weeks. Sorry if TMI but I figired this was a good safe place to share and get feedback from others Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App

I couldn't say for sure. I have been on my period since the first day of my 2 week pre-op liquid diet. I am now 3 weeks post op and have experienced an increase in flow and cramps daily. 5 weeks total and I am scared it will not stop. I have not even considered about losing weight from it being over Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App

Hello everybody! I am 8 days post op sleeve today. I have joticed that I feel like I have ZERO stomach tone. I have tried to lie on my side last night because I can't take sleeping on my back any longer. I felt like when i slightly rolled to either side last night that all of my insides sloshed to the side as well. It is odd to describe but it almost feels like nothing (stomach, intestine, everything else in there) is seat belted in place anymore. Anyone else felt this way? Not doing so well
Amy'ssleeve replied to cantstop87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Throw out EVERYTHING that is not liquid. It is an actual DANGER to eat that way at this point. I hope you find a way to manage by the recommendation of your surgeon. Perhaps call a friend or family member over and confide in them and ask for help safeproofing your home and accountability. Go to the store and stock up on tasty foods that are appropriate for now. Best of luck & hang in there. You are the Only one with the power to make or break u Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App -

Feeling tired

I am also 8 days out and exhaustion is not budging. I think it is our bodies in shock still and recovering without our normal caloric intake. Feel better soon. I need to get vitamines Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App -

Anyone else have a tough recovery?
Amy'ssleeve replied to chunkygirl679's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I feel ya! I feel like a weakling compared to others when it comes to recovering. I understand we're all different and our bodies handle the changes in their own ways. I however feel that I might have had a bit more pain due to the medication (RXs) I was discharged with. I was only prescribed Tylenol with Codeine for pain. I feel that considering the level of pain I've had, I would have benefited from something with a little more power. I also had some dizzy spells but figured it was low BP due to lack of fluids on board. I hope you feel better soon. It'll all be worth it ♡ Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App -
I needed to hear your qords and see your photos this morning. I was sleeved 5 days ago and recovery is really hard. The weight is melting off but it is still a struggle to feel like i will never feel well again. Thank you and you look beautiful Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App

Hello everyone! Here's my first post. I just had my sleeve done on 12-14-16 (4 days ago) by Dr Irfran Wadiwala in Houston at The Woodlands Specialty Hospital. I was terribly nervous the day of surgery. My dad & sister accompanied me to the hospital and helped keep my nerves in check until it was surgery time. Right before being wheeled back to the OR I was given something to help me relax (Lord knows i needed it). All I remember of the OR was having my hands tied down and the anesthesiologist saying that I was about to go to sleep. The nest thing I remember is waking up in recovery in a lot of pain! I remember trying to tell my nurse how much I hurt and requesting stronger meds. Once they gave me some dilauded I felt like I could rest. I remember waking up in my room and I could barely talk due to being intubated during the surgery. The next day rolled my slowly with lots of requests for pain meds and short walks down the hall to help with gas. GAS PAINS are REAL!! Upon being discharged and arriving home it took some time to pick up my pain RX and try to take them. My doctor only prescribed Tylenol with codeine (should have given better pain meds) and i was too nauseated to keep it down. Long story short I ended up back at an ER to get pain under control. I cried so much that it made the tension in my stomach cause a tremendous amount of pain, but thankfully they started am IV and gave me fluids & more good pain meds. My nurse in the ER has bariatric surgery a couple years ago so she was pretty empathetic . They also did a CAT scan to check that everything was ok. They let me sleep a few hours in the ER while having my pain controlled. By the time we got back home the next day my sister wrote out a medication schedule to help stay on top of the pain. The next two days have been pretty uncomfortable but tolerable with lots of sleep. I've been taking nausea suppositories (less to swallow thank God) and have stayed with Gas X strips. I think I'm finally over the worst of it now and hopefully on the road to recovery. I don't think I ate anything the first 2 days and barely sipped broth yesterday. Today was full liquids and I've managed to stop on premier Protein and a couple tbl sp of broc Soup. Trying to keep up with Water. Trying to walk every couple of hours or every time i wake up. I wish the gas pains would hurry up and go away but they seem to be hanging on. I miss picking up & playing with my 3 year old but i know I'll heal quicker if I stick to all the rules.
