    Transtioning to solids?

I am on soft foods now and I am on day 5 of week 4. I struggled with scrambled egg but added a bit of lactose free milk and didn't over cook it. I have a real hard time with meat. chicken is really hard going even when I chew for a while. It seems to get stuck. I am fine with tuna, ricotta cheese, mornay, porridge, smoothies made with ice and coconut Water, minced beef in sauce. I think my problem is that I still eat quite quickly, I don't like cold food unless it is meant to be cold for example salad or Cereal. I also have to remind myself to chew more. All my life I ate fast before everyone and that also meant I ate more as I didn't feel full straight away. This is a learning curve for me. However I am really happy with the weight loss and recovery time post op. I have lost 12kg, which is 26.4 pounds. I work in kilos as I am in Australia. I am walking every day and eating healthy. I feel so much better already and I am only a third of the way to my goal. Good luck everyone and thank you for all of the posts they have been a great support. Tomorrow is the day.

Good luck you'll be in good hands. I am 6 days post op and it's amazing how quick the recovery is. I'm really well, however I am a strict rule follower. I follow my dietician's program post op. Anything unusual that I am feeling I search on our forums. There is always someone else who has had the same thing. Lots of advice it's a wonderful app. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

The full liquid diet is hard. I am finding drinking Water difficult. My sister made me some iced tea to change it up. The Protein has been my challenge I am a bit sick of Optifast. I bought some natural Protein powder for my Soup. It was yuk! I don't like the texture. Can anyone recommend how I can get more protein? I managed to get up to 50gr yesterday but it was a struggle. I was told I have to have 60-65gr per day. Very hard... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I had my surgery on the 13th December. I have had strange gurgling sounds when I drink. I read on a post to sip really slowly, however it is very common. I too have had all sorts of strange feelings. Tightness, pain in my left shoulder, thank goodness it has gone now. I would love to hear more about how everyone feels and what they have been recommended. My surgeon was a man of little words. I was given a few pamphlets to read. This site has been the most informative for me to date. I have typed in things I was feeling in the search bar and then read the posts from others who have experienced it before. It makes me feel so much better...less worried and definitely puts my mind at ease. Take care Amanda Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
