Your hormones are still out of whack. I have awakened with anything from a full blown panic attack to feeling like I am a total failure in life.

Expect some pain the first few days. They don't really explain that well. But after a week or less you turn the corner. Walking helps. Also get a support or restraint belt for your stomach.

One step at a time. Breathe first. Everything will eventually work out and your job will work with you.

My theory is that our bodies are used to being stuffed with comfy foods all of the time and now we are empty inside and our body is freaking out. My waking up dead feeling lessened after I stopped pain meds too.

I have the same thing and described it to my best friend the same way and she understood exactly what I meant about waking up feeling dead. I'm so glad u posted. I just keep piling on more blankets. I heard a woman say on a video say she sleeps in a restraining belt to keep her gut warm. I bought one and wear it out side for security. May try this.

Water will come as your swelling goes down. You will be able to take bigger drinks.

I woke up with nausea some around day 6. Got back to broth for a day and don't sweat the Protein quota. You will get there. Slow down.

If u don't have a gall bladder the old Rita is common. Get on a probiotic. I use Standard Process. It helps. Take Iron which clogs you too. Get on a raw Calcium and not calcium citrate. Citrate is synthetic and hard on you if no gall bladder. Use plant based products. Stick with them and you will level out.

Miralax. Take it with fluids. Tasteless. Don't use Fiber. Use the gentle laxatives first. Then when it comes out you will stop Miralax a day to adjust. You may have diarrhea a couple days Then keep adjusting every day until you find what works for you. You won't always need it after you discover your new poop pattern. Your body will heal and you will relax enough in the future to be able to deal with occasional irregularities just like you did before.

I had a drain but it came out before I left the hospital. I also had a catheter. Didn't notice them much at all. They came out with a little pull from the nurse. No trouble at all. I had anxiety about both and neither bothered me.

Everything will be fine. It is rough but survivable. Stay in the hospital as long as you can just for the pain meds. sleep drink and breathe. Going home the first 3 days are agonizing. It is a long week but so much better by day 6 post surgery. You will lose weight right away and you won't be hungry. It's a miracle truly.

I thought my surgeon and hospital were going to send me home on my psych meds. They clearly said they would do all of this. They didn't. I got pills for Prevacid. Capsules I can't swallow. I got pain pills I can barely swallow. I tried swallowing my psych meds the first day but impossible without panic. So I called my regular psychiatrist for liquid meds. Took him 2 days to call back. Finally said he could get 1 of 2 in liquid. I thought fine. Found out from pharmacy that they can't understand his orders and it can't be filled til Monday. Meanwhile off of Ambien, trazadone, Wellbutrin and Zoloft all 4 cold turkey for last 6 days due to screw up.

Sorry I didn't respond. Restraining belt is a wrap that goes around your body. May be the same as binder. Hope things are better with you. I am having insomnia now that I am off of pain meds. Just want some sleep. I finally tried the bed on day 10 and lasted about three hours.
